newbe question...is it a bruise or an abcess

This may be a stupid question but i am a newbe to the needle..I recently started taking deca and 3 of the 4 shots in the ass i took left some major bruising and hard spots on around the injection site. I was using 1 1/2 inch 22 guage needles.. Can sommeone explain what an abcess looks like in comparison to just a bruise? I don't think i'm injecting improperly but i hesitate to continue...

USUALLY AN ABSESS BRINGS SOEM OTHER SYMTOMS WITH IT SUCH AS FEVER AND MUSCLE PAIN, IF YOU DO NTO HEVE ANY OF THESE YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO.

Dude, try having your friend stick it in your ass. Dont try and poke yourself like that.

Are you aspirating? If not that could do it.

Just have someone give it to you from behind............youll be ok then. ;)

well I've got no fever or other muscle pain other than the good kind... so i guess that's a good sign...my buddy was doing the actual injecting so i'm not sure if he asperated.. but i do remember him saying there's little to no blood after.. if that means anything... it's just a bit unnerving is all... i'm sure i'll get ofer it by the end of my fifth or sixth cycle..lol...thanks for the direction

A hard spot or bruise is not a symptom of an abcess. An abcess will have to be cut open and drained to relieve the infection site. You will probably have fever associated with the infection - if it were an abcess. Dont do more injects into the area with the knot, until it goes away.

Also, for me if I get a knot @ an injection site, usually riding my bike or a heat pad will help disipate the oil.
Try not to move the needle too much while injecting.

Bruising can occur because you passed through a vein during the injection, causing bleeding under the skin aka a bruise. Many times newbie injectors will begin well placing the needle but will tense up while injecting. When the needle is inside you and you begin to tense up and contract the muscle you are shooting or you begin to move a little, you cause the muscle to move. This movement can cause small tears within the tissue around the needle. This will cause discomfort that will last a few days. My advice if you are to remain shooting yourself is to stand on the leg you are not shooting keeping the side you are injecting very loose. Inject the glute high just couple of inches below the waist and relax. A cool trick is to place the full syringe above a lamp for about 1 minute this will heat up the oil making it real easy to pass through the needle, causing less chance for you to tense up.

I think you should continue your gear. Deca is usually real easy and seldom causes pain and swelling after the injection. This is why I believe you are injecting improperly.

Hope this helped, and trust me it gets easier and you will soon be on your way to spot injecting.
