NEW PR on decline

I was doing decline tonight for assistance after speed bench for my triceps..

usually my progression will look like this..

135x 6, 145 x6, 155 x6, 165x6 ... today i was using my new wider grip and proceeded to go.
135 x 6, 155 x6, 175 x6, 185 x 6. ....

im thoroughly amazed and "befuddled" at my accomplishment. Im thinking now that when i get in a a good shirt, i should hit 205 easily, because my triceps got strong all of a sudden :)

anyone think there is a carry over from decline to a shirted bench (i really hope there is)

I think the decline will help out the shirted bench because its a lot of the same muscles...both emphasize the triceps to a large degree.

I stopped trying to project carryovers to flat or shirted benches from all types of bench presses like inclines-declies- all boards-floor etc. Just gotta max in each one to find out.

(off topic) I dont beleive in projecting
1 rex maxes with reps either. I dont know why this hasnt been abandoned by strength coaches! Three weeks ago I got 285 x 8 reps flat (all I could do) and yesterday I did 400 x 1 flat. The chart calculation is way off for me and a lot of others I hear about.

that 185 x 6 decline is awesome :mix:

I think right now you are good for 210+ with a good shirt

i better be good for 215... i just hope the shirt fits.. im thinking it may be 1 size t oo big in poly(a size 40) and i'd be a 39 prob. a siize 36 would be nice though.. nice and tight.
