new leg work out

Well I found out what the sharp pain in my upper back is. The doctor said I pinched a nerve in my traps. Well then he told me the bad news and that was that there is nothing he can do about I just have to give it time to heal and work it out all by itself. Well here is where I have a real problem I don't want to stop working out. I have found that I can't do a couple of basics like sqaut or military press or ant thing that brings my shoulder blades together. Now finally to my question does any body think I can still get a good work out for my legs without doing squats? I want to try subsituting front squats (which I happen to love to do) for regular sqauts. Any ideas or workouts for building mass in my legs would be great. Thanks for the help anything would be helpfull

Do you not need to do anything which puts stress (pressure) on your back?

You can do Zearcher Squats, Front squats, hack squats (holding the bar behind you, etc...

You could also use some reverse hyper work. I'll see if I can put up a link to me doing them.

I can put pressure on my back I just can not bring my sholder blades together. When I do it feels like a hot poker is being stuck into my lower traps.

My leg workout today consited of

Leg extention and leg curls to warm up
3sets each of 15 reps

Front squats
1 set of warmup of no wieght for 20 reps
4 sets of 6 to 8 reps

Dead lifts
4 sets prymaiding up from 10 reps to 6 reps

Stiff legged dead
5 sets of 6 to 8 reps

Leg Curls
3 sets to failure

Leg Extentions
3 sets to faliure

I normally stay a way from isolation but felt like I had not done enough. Squats really drain my legs. That is the only thing that is missing from my workout. I added sets to every thing else to try to compinsate for the lack of squats

Sounds like you are moving in the right direction then. You did squats and dedlifts...so it can't be all bad.

Just be working on a way to do squats again. Find a way...

Thank you for your help b fold!!!!!!!!!!! ;) I was hoping that is what someone would say. I quess I needed some assurance.
