Stealing signs has been going on since you were in diapers. If Mangina was dumb enough not to disguise them, then it's his own fault.
James Washington from the dallas cowboys hayday was just saying on the radio, he knew people were trying to steal signs, and they had codes to hide them. He also said on timeouts, he'd mosy over to the other teams side line to try to hear what they were saying.
All the jealous haters are coming out of the wood work, but this is nothing new.
 
who cares if it has been going on for ages. if the pats were so damm good they would not need to steal signs correct, cause they would kick everyones asses. i guess they were not cofindent in their own talent to wim the games cause if they were they would not cheat correct. right. they

i totally agree with phaded. even if its been going on for ages its still gay :rainbow: its make you team look really bad. First thing is says i cant beat this team on talent alone thats a fact. it shows everyone that coach lacks trust and confident in his players to win without getting an advantage. just because it happens all the time does not make it right. if i was a pat player i would be fucking pissed at the coaching staff cause it makes them look bad like they could not of beat them without help. he should be fired ololololol

no shit why do you think every coach in the league covers that face when they call plays..they would not be doing that if they did not know that every one is trying to see what he is saying...

you can't play football and win on talent alone.
Football is all about diception and strategy - exploiting the other team's weaknesses (just like any other sport). If their weakness was decipherable signals then exploit it. If you have a WR that is faster than the DB, exploit it.

Those players/coaches get payed waaay too much to NOT take advantage of anything thing they can. Also have to add the pressure to win from the execs. Just like steroid usage, people are willing to go to great lengths to succeed in athletics.

Im not saying it is right, but it is part of the game and is sad that people have to resort to such tactics.
 
if the pats are the only ones doing it then why in every nfl game ever you see the coaches going to great lengths to cover there face and what they are saying...not just games against the pats but in every single game on every single play of the game...

If the Patriots broke the rules, they need to be punished - regardless if everybody else does it.
Personally I don't think stealing signals should be against the rules. I think it's the signalers job to conceal them. That's just my opinion, and not a rule - so fuck the Patriots.

All I care about from this story is that maybe our defense isn't COMPLETELY hopeless. (I'm a Jets fan)

Honestly, I don't care that they were stealing signs. If we put it out there to be stolen, it's our own damn fault. I hope a lesson was learned from it at least.
 
Seems to me Mangini was the defensive coordinator of the Pats. Hmmmm, how did he know what they were doing unless he was part of it.
So lets see. He was part of the system. He reaped the benefits by getting the Jets job. Then he ratted out the guy who gave him a chance.
Sounds like a RAT.
He essentially did exactly what Jose Canseco did.
Then again if you cheat don't get caught.
Everyone does it.
I could care less in the end.

whay ever the pats will go on kicking ass this year and people will just keep brining up the stealing sign thing even though they deff will not be doing it any more because every one is watching them...so when the pats kick the shit out of a bunch of teams this year whats going to be the reason then...come the fuck on.
 
I think there's a big difference between looking at what the other team is doing with your own eyes and having your cameraman video tape it so you can review it at halftime/ during a film session for another game.

this is obviously not the first time. i highly doubt any other team in the league video tapes other teams signals

I never heard this before.....they actually video taped it?
Whatever the case, it gives a really good team an advantage they dont need. I curious to see how well that team does now that they are going to be watched. Just like the steriod thing in baseball, why do you think homeruns are all of a sudden down this year. when in the past few years there has been a constent growth in numbers

they dont test for hgh in baseball.. how compareable is hgh to winny for strength
 
BTW, it is perfectly legal to take still pictures, just not moving pictures. Every team takes the stills, prints them out and sends them to the sidelines.
I don't think it is that much of a competitive advantage, getting video vs still. It's still against the rules, and they should get penalized, but people are making way to big a deal of it.

what gets me is everyone cheats people keep saying, are you kidding me , so that makes it okay then. what really bothers me is this. if people think the pats only cheated once by video tape your nuts, i bet they have been cheating all along doing god knows what. Here is my take the pats have a excellent team right ? They are playing the jets. Now 99 percent of the people think the pats can beat the jets with their eyes closed. Why would the pats need a advantage even in the slighest to beat the jets. what i wonder if why the pats felt like they need a advantage even in the tinyest bit to beat the jets. makes you really wonder whats going on over there. and for everyone that does not think its a big deal. if its not a big deal at all then why risk it and do it in the first place. there is more going on then people think just wait and see

I think its hilarious how all the patriot fans on this forum are trying to excuse or defend it instead of just being straightforward and admitting you guys fucked up.

the rest of the patriot fans with dignity and respect for the sport are embarrassed. just look on espn or listen to any major sports radio show...all the patriot fans that call in are embarrassed and surprised they'd even need to resort to that.

I was listeining to espn and this guy had a great point. He was saying how alot of people are saying its not really a big deal what the pats did. The guy said bill is a amazing coach, i mean three super bowls. The man is so smart he would not risk dragging the whole team down in the mud getting the team fined and making the team look extremly bad if the rewards were not super high. And if people think this is the first time he cheated they are living in a dream world. the pats always had a great defense over theyears makes you wonder, seems to me bill is willing to risk anything to win and get a ADVANTAGE. I mean shit the players on thge team are shocked and freaking embarresed .

Yeah, teams take stills of the play formations and how they develop from the press box up high. Not of the coaches signal right next to them on the sidelines.
 
You obviously have no clue about football, every Coach in the league admits to trying to steal signs every game, Belicheck took it to the next level, but I guess you said every coach in the league is classless then. Belicheck got caught that is all.
