i have a fast metabolisim and i can never gain weight and keep it. i am 5'6'' and i maintaine a weight of 120-125. i once weighted 145 with the help of a prescribed medication and i felt good and looked better but i would have looked even better if i could have been toned with it. i want to work out and gain musle but i don't know how to begain a real routine. i have a workout room inside my home and i just need some direction on how to gain weight and keep it. someone please help..... :)
 
Im not an expert in gaining weight since all my life ive been trying to lose it. Consider your self lucky I guess. I would assume it is all about cals in and out. So look at the sticky's at the top of the board. Find a good diet and EAT!! YOu are looking into bulking so I think for that it is 14-16X your weight (lbs) in calories. HIT those weights HARDDDDD and eat lots of protein and clean carbs.

All I have to do is look at food and I gain weight. I agree with Aries, read about bulking.

you are in the right spot for support. These ladies helped me a lot. I had a problem with gaining weight but mostly because I'm not a good eater. I never have been able to eat enough or enough of the right stuff....UNTIL NOW.
I always knew I needed to eat. I'm in the health field and I majored in Chemistry(for crying out loud!!!!!)I know how the body works. I just couldn't eat much. I have gained some real inspiration and great food ideas(check out the recipe thread!) from this site. I have always been a runner but found myself feelind sick and exhausted all of the time... because I was not properly fueling my body. It's been a little over a month for me(I'm kinda still a newbie) and I wake up feeling refreshed. I am back to running like I did in high school. I feel GREAT. I'm finally on track and excited about my goals and future goals. Stick around. Let us know how you are doing. If u are having a problem, check with the forum. Someone is always willing to help.
