Need to drop 13 lbs in 10 days! Help!

Okay, I know this is not the type of question you normally see on a body building site but since I visit this site everyday I though I would throw it out there. I have to drop 13 lbs in the nex ten days for wrestling. I have to make the weight hydrated so I cant just sweat it off (there is a piss test with specific gravity and shit so I really do have to be hydrated). I have just been going hardcore no carbs and tons of cardio (2 to 3 sessions buring at least 1000 cal a session) but the weight is not coming off. I finally said fuck it and quit lifting because I think it was helping my weight stay up. I can start lifting again on Oct. 3 after I make weight. I am currently 170 lbs with 9.5% body fat. I need to be 157lbs on Oct. 3. Should I kill the all protien diet and just go to a more balanced routine, accepting that I will have to lose a bit of muscle to make the weight class and worry about putting it back on later or do you guys think all protien is the way to go. Energy levels and shit like that are not a problem neither is anything else that makes people go off diets. I am die hard and will make this weight no matter what I just want to keep as much muscle as possible. What do you all recomend?

Come on guys, help me out? Is it possible to just lose fat in this amount of time or will I have to sacrifice muscle? If so can I still go ketogenic or should I just worry about calories. should I keep my protien up? Still take my 2 tbls flax? Help?

Doesnt look like youre geting any replies bud!
We had this on my board a few months back - and I have seen a thai boxer before in a similar situation - though not as much to lose!! (Im a dietitian who sees folk one-to-one)

Youre pushing it and its going to heve detrimental eefcts on your performance, period.

Drop your carbs to v small portions, but do not exclude - have 5 small complex servings daily at reg intervals. Carb deplete but dont load - adverse onperformance - but its up to you if making that weight is so imp!

Protein, modertaly high, but regular.

CV work ++, weights for muscle maintenance.

The trick is gonna be fluid manipualtion - I posted another question on sodium dpeltion. I would sodium load - add salt to everything, + Marmite, Ketchup +++ 6-4 days pre event. Water
6 days out 5l, 5days - 6l, 4days- 8l

3 days out drop the soduim big time - only low sodium food. Water high 5-6l days 3 and 2 pre event. But try low sodium brands like Evian or other French ones.

Morning day before - keep carbs low - enough to keep you going, + 1-2l water. Afternoon - moderate protein, sip water when dry, small reg carbs.

half bottle dry white wine in the evening - bed early.

Morning more wine, reg protein.

If your weigh in is early - great - weight , then ++ simple carbs for energy - which you will need.

Im not happy with this as you will fee like shit, and be in ketosis, if you are near passing out, take a little more carbs.

I hope I ve covered everything - I could write pages to get it exactly right!!

let me know bud
Also guys Im new here so I dont want to sound like a smart arse with no credibility, but no one was answering Hurricanes post and hes desperate - this regimen will work (maybe not 13lbs!!), but is his only emergency option, other than amputation!!!

BTW - UglyASS, Wrongun, BBigman2000 know me (and others) if you want a ref!!

:)

what is taraxatone? Also, I don't have a competition on this date that I need to make the weight. It is only for certifications. I can then lose the weight more sensibly later on. Thanks to both of you for responding though

Can't help much. Back in my day, we had no hydration tests.

But, if you haven't tried it, here's a tip to knock 1-1.5 pounds off immediately at weigh-in: stand on your head for about 2 minutes, immediately before you step on the scales.

I know, it sounds screwy. But try it sometime. Step on the scales, weigh yourself. Go stand on your head for 2 minutes, then step back on the scales. Lasts for about 15-20 seconds.

it is an herbal version of lasix

I do not like your chances. It can be done i suppose by doing an ATKINS type of induction diet where you eat proteins and fats and no carbs. The only problem is you will only lose water weight at the start but it will shed some weight. Also try to get some taraxtone.Good luck!

Try a whole pack of laxatives everyday!!

I'm not fucking stupid but thanks for the help. About this taraxatone. . . will this affect my hydration levels as mesured by a urinalysis? Basicly imediatly after weight-ins we have to piss in a cup and it has to be diluted to a certain extent (.2 parts per mil. or somthing like that). Will taraxatone effect this in any way? Also I am down to 167.5 so I have 10.5lbs in nine days. I will keep you all posted on how it goes.
My routine has been wake up take two hydroxycut and one PPA and a multi-vitamin. Do 60 min of meduim-high intensity cardio (average 1000-1150 cal. burned). Have a shake with 2.5g fat 22g carbs and 35 grams protien. So its about 250 cal. Then a wrestling workout for an hour and fifteen minutes at meduim intensity. followed by a shake with 5g fat 32 carbs 41 grams protien and 350 cal. Later another shake with 5g fat 12g carbs and 26g protien right before my last cardio session which is another hour of medium-high intensity burning 1000 cal. then another shake this time 1.5g fat 2 grams carbs 20g protien, and this same shake again before bed. I am not sure if I should add a tablespoon or two of flax oil to my first shake of the day or leave it as is. I am also staying away from solid food just to keep as little solids in my body at any time (they say the average person has 8lbs of food moving throught their system at any time) so by drinking only shakes I figure I can cut down on this number. Any comments, encouragment, and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Ketosis...drop all carbs, increase fat and moderate protein....check out my CKD manual on how to get started

basically, eat plain meat, fried in oil, 3-4 times a day, NO SODIUM...you'll drop 10lbs of water, that's a sure fact

Mr.X

For all who are interested tomorrow is the weigh-in and I was only 2.3 lbs over tonight so I think I will make it! Thanks for the help guys (cutting sodium helped alot, no carbs etc.) and I still have all my limbs! lol

If I'd known it was only a weigh-in and not a competition, I would've said cut your carbs and fat completely, drink truckloads of water and cardio first thing in the morning and again after weight training in the afternoon or evening.... eating only protein foods.

It's only a short-term solution and not too healthy, but I dropped a lot of weight using this method last year. Only real problem is you feel like you've just run a marathon 24/7.

Sorry I'm too late.

I made it! I had to have my friends pull of my sweats because they were too soaked from sweat and I was to weak but once I was on the scale it was all good. Rehidrated, got a good meal in me, a good nights rest and today I could almost walk without pain! Whatever, fuck it. Its the price I chose to pay to pursue perfection in my sport. When I stand on top of the podium at nationals it will all be worth it.
