NEED that PROTEIN!!

I usually always have 2 protein shakes a day.1 in the morning and 1 at night.The rest of the day I eat chicken, tuna, eggs, nuts...ect. I ran out of my protein drink mix about 4 days ago and have not had time to go get more.OMG!!!!Since yesterday, I have lost so much energy.I don't feel sick, just tired and dragging ass!!!!I guess that extra 50-60 grams of protein a day makes a HUGE difference.It's the only thing I have changed lately.I bet that's the problem.I feel like crap.I have been meaning to go buy more but I am so tired, now.I just got off work and I feel so much more tired.I started feeling tired yesterday but 2day ...OMG!!!! I didn't think only going a few days without would make a change this fast!!! I guess I should have increased my protein in other ways on the days that I was out of my mix.

What brand do you normally use? Always make sure you buy some more before you run out so you will always have enough.

I know what you mean. I have been slacking on my shakes as well. So today I picked up some tropical punch flavored for a change. I normally do like you 2 day one in the morning and one right after my workout.

I LOVE designer whey.Under 100 calories, 18 grams of protein, 2 carbs and tastes great! I drink the peanut butter/chocolate in the morning b/c I toss in a little bit of coffee and ice(yum, better than Starbucks frappachino).And I usually have the strawberry(double YUM!!!!) b4 bed.I bought some more about 2 hours ago.I will try to never run out again. It sucked.

The brand I use has 110 calories 20 grams of protein only 1 gram of sugar and it tastes good. Easy to mix to it's by Body Fortress(whey protein) same with the tropical punch flavor although it's creatine and I didn't realize it until just a while ago. It has more sugar in it than the whey does. But I can't say about the taste as I haven't tried it yet.

If what you need is protein, then eat some eggs, meat, whatever. Life doesn't rotate around your protein shakes! They make life easier but if it makes you that exhausted to be down those couple of shake meals, get the protein other ways, The source doesnt' really matter as much as getting the protein.

Have you ever tried that candy by lifesavers. Cream savers, that's what it tasted like the strawberry kind or cherry whatever it is. Would be tons better if very cold.

Yeah, u are right. U always seem right on the money.I have been reading your posts since way b4 I ever posted anything myself. I do eat other protein.I eat chicken, tuna, nuts, LOVE eggs .... I just think that over those few days when I stopped drinking my shakes, I failed to up my intake with the other stuff. I usually eat a lot of the other stuff but whenever I am tired, like b4 bed and around breakfast time, I have always had a hard time eating.Sometimes I get really busy at work(where I usually am at b4 bedtime and in the morning)(sometimes, it's hard to get a chance to pee at work) and by the time I am awake enough to eat, it has been 2long and I am starving.That's why I usually do the shakes.They are easier for me to consume while tired.Sometimes the most busy part of my shift at work is when I am tired and don't feel like eating but since my job can be very physical at times, I don't want to starve my body of protein.So that's where the shakes come in.But the rest of the time, I eat about every 3 hours.I snack on boiled eggs, nuts, chicken, ect. But I DO understand the point u were trying to make and I totally agree.Thanx for the impute.I think it would all be easier for me to plan if I knew when I would be going to bed and waking up.Sometimes I am at work for 12 hours and sometimes I get stuck there for up to 36 hours.I usually just sleep when I can and eat real food when I am awake enough to eat.It's really funny when I miss a workout because of work.Everyone laughs at me when I am the crazy girl in the back of the ambulance trying to fit in pushups and tummy work.
 
I'm thiinking you put a banana in there. Somehow "banana flavored" reminds me of back in the day when the dentist gave u that gawdawful fluoride treatment and they'd try to convince you that it "really tasted like banana"... :sick:

Ordered myself some Next Proteins Choc. Peanut Caramel & Tropical Punch flavors today....Nummy nummy!!

The Chocolate peanut Caramel Rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!! My all time favorite, and it does taste awesome with some instant coffee thrown in. On the other hand, I can't stand the penicillin, oops I meant Tropical Punch. It's taste just like the thin version of penicillin, not the one that tastes like thick bubble gum, but the other thinner one. Yuck. I wasn't too fond of the strawberry either, which is surprising because strawberry is normally my favorite flavor (think icecream). However it does tastes better dressed up with strawberries and a banana. The regular chocolate sucks as does the French Vanilla, yet the Vanilla Praline is yummy. Remember to adjust your scoops on the Designer Whey so that you're actually intaking enough protein. I believe it has less protein per scoop versus ON.

The plain chocolate tastes amazing if u add a big spoon of natty PB. I usually mix it with ice in the blender or put it in the freezer for a few minutes so it gets really cold. Tastes like a choc.&PB shake.
 
I recently bought Designer Whey's (by Next Protein) (ordered from www.dpsnutrition.net) Chocolate Peanut Caramel & Tropical Punch.

The Choc. Peanut Caramel is GOOOOOOD!!! Very tasty -- has a peanutty/caramelly aftertaste which isn't too bad....

The Tropical Punch is sweet but has a nice fruity taste. A good change. Hubby thought it began with a vanilla taste & finished sweet. Mixed up well with just a shaker cup.
 
Mmmm...Choc/Peanut Caramel...I wish I could have it. I need to find a protein shake that isn't chocolate. I am allergic to chocolate :redhot: :qt: It makes me an emotional wreck! One minute I'll be happy and the next raging mad, then bawling my eyes out! And of course I love the stuff! I tried the Dorian Yates Chocolate today and it was amazing...but it's my day off and I can be cranky if I want to! Ha ha ha...

What brand is this Tropical Punch? Is it the Nectar Brand? I've tried the Green Apple before, it wasn't bad.

Also I am living in the USA right now and the protein powders taste alot different! They don't have that same aftertaste I really don't like! There must be different ingredients or something they allow in the US they don't in Canada...
