I posted my thoughts on the thread on another board and the poster agreed with me

I simply stated that carbs near bed illicit the insulin response which is known to help sleep

I use more as a fail safe when i know i need sleep for the next day

Milk AND PASTA are my sleep choices and you dont need much either

fat free milk I'm OK with, especially if i mix it with some casein protein

or a few scoops of cottage cheese

^^ lol nice.

Good post Om.

Benadryl, benzadrine, melatonin and valerian have all helped me. (Not all at the same time.)

Also, I used to make my own reefer capsules - they helped a bunch too.

I have been having difficulties sleeping for about 3 months now so I finally went all out and picked up 30 tabs of Seroquel (quetiapine). It's a prescription drug that can be purchased legally online without a script if it's no more than a 90 day supply.

Wow, does it work, the tabs come in diff strengths but I have the 100mg tabs. I split it in 2 and took 50mg and slept for 13 hours solid. I felt a bit drowsy when I woke up so I'm thinking 25mg next time.

I'm going to use it sparingly and take it only on Friday nights - most likely only when I missed a lot of sleep during the week.

This stuff would put a meth head to sleep.

thats the shit people use to stop trippping if they get scared or it lasts to long. Mind sharing where to get it since it's legal.

I take melatonin every work night. GABA is the shit too. It gives me some funky ass dreams. I dreamed about my bros little sister last night (she's legal). He would kick my ass if I told him that. :p

LOl

Brad.

When I was a teenager I couldn't sleep for shit. Was always fucking tired and would lay in bed for hours staring at the ceiling. Now, I literally fall asleep in seconds, even on tren.

But, on tren I fucking wake up about 50 or 60 times a night(not kidding). The other night I woke up and my comforter was completely soaked like someone threw a pale of water on me while I was asleep. It was the most disgusting thing ever. I was in total amazement at the amount of sweat on me. I had to get out of bed and get a clean towel and dry myself off like I got out of the shower. Anyone know why that happens on tren sometimes? Its not every night, just once in a while.

Me too, rare that I can't sleep, it has happened on occasion before an exam or when in carb deplete.

I also do great with naps, and they don't stop me from sleeping at night.

My fav muscle building trick, train on a day off early in the morning, come home, eat and SLEEP :)

Klonopin and valium are horrible sleep aids. May help you fall asleep but they interfere with later stages of REM sleep causing many disruptions. Not to mention a groggy hang over feeling.

Ambien, trazadone and flexeril are good for sleep disorders. Theres one more but Im forgetting it.

I had sleep apnea so Im aware of all this stuff. Xanax is another one thats bad for sleep.

Keeping a tv out of the bedroom is a good idea and stay off the computer. If you cant fall asleep in 15 mins get up and walk around and do some simple things then try and go back to sleep

the thing with xanax is that it makes u sleep really good for a week but after that it doesnt work anymore

i orderd some trazdone off line read it increases seratonin and promotes sleep.

After a few days i noticed water retention in my face and midsection.
Thought it was in my head,,keep taking it for 2 weeks to sleep
gained 6lbs of water bloat
I looked like shit, threw it out and in about 2-3 weeks returned to normal.

7. Chamomile Flower Extract--tried the tea version--sorta worked

Amino Acid & Other Subtance Sleep Aids:
1. 5-HTP
2. L-Tryptophan (by RX only in the U.S.) always worked for me than al of a sudden a bad batch into the us and poof, gone

Prescription Sleep Aids:
1. Zolpidem (Ambien) --my doc said this stuff should be banned

2. Trazodone (Desyrel) -- Antidepressent which helps sleep worked for a while but really messed-up in the morning if you get less than 8 hours

3. Clonazepam (Klonopin)
great for anxiety -related sleep problems

xanax is bad for sleep? hmm, i get crazy dreams when i take xanax, i think i was just taking too much vitamin b complex and couldn't sleep even with simply sleep, i'd lay there, eyes closed, and hours pass and no sleep unless i drop .5mg xanax. well now i laid off the vitamin b a little and i can sleep. i have tons of flexeril sitting here. what could this do to your gains though? i know you sleep good, i can't stay awake when i take it. last time i took one, passed out at my brothers and they were drawing pictures on my face with markers. didn't even fucking know it. then i got into truck and wife drove, fell asleep half a block and woke up, felt like i was out for a fucking hour. love the shit. wouldn't want it to fuck up my pumps or gains though. what do you think bro?

Tren A fucks with my sleep. Waking up early, 2 x day workouts, good diet, and still only 4-5 hours sleep a night. I gotta know this is messing with my potential gains in the gym

sleep is a key to gains. good thread for people who have problems shutting down the system for a recharge

on my bulk up season i have no problem falling alseep after a hard work out, but if i do i always go in to my med cabinet and grab me a colt 45,,, puts me out like a light, hahaha thats only like 1 every 2 weeks cuz i have no prob sleepin. but thats my last resort if chokin the chicken dont work,(remember if you dont use it you can loose it)

Sure it makes you fall asleep, it just disrupts your REM sleep and your groggy all day. Not good at all.

Temazepam (generic) = Restoril Sleeping pill. Addictive. I take one Klonapin two restorils and a 100 mg seroquel. Try and wake up on that. Out like a light. Tell me about klonapin, lol, been taking for awhile. Its the only thing that keeps my anxiety attacks under focus.I used to get made fun of at work before I started taking them. People would say I was high, or drunk, actually was just having an attack. Shallow people man. Now nobody knows, except me.

very good information Omega :artist:

Seroquel was the other sleep aid I was sleeping of. never tried it personally. Its an antisychotic but is oft prescribed as a sleep aid. Rozeram is another one.

But definately no benzos for sleep aids.

Worst thing I ever took was half a mirtazipine. I could barely get out of bed. Slept for about 16hrs straight and still had to will myself out of bed. That and trazadone just dont work for me.

As far as Sleep for me now what I do:

Hot Glass of Milk ( not microwaved only stove top warmed), and some Starchy carbs ; like a small bowl of potato salad or pasta

The tryptophen and carb spike slow metabolism and trick it in to a repair state.

yah, watch out for melatonin. I've been taking that stuff to deal with my hectic schedule and wanting to maximize my days, but now i can barley fall asleep at night without taking it like my body won't produce the chemical anymore. i'm up to like 9 mgs a night, gonna back off once my finals are over

. Avoid stressful activity several hours before sleep (stressful activity makes your body pump out cortisol which will keep you awake). What if about two hours before bedtime is the only time you can workout? Is it just the quality of sleep you get in working out before you go to bed or does it promote bad health issues other than sleep quality???

Good stuff.

Just started using some seroquel. And that stuff knocks you right out. Great mood stabilizer, plus and added benefit is that it gives you the munchies and you can eat and eat and eat.

So if bulking, Seroquel is a great aid.
