Need Everyone To Do Their Part Before Our Rights Are Completely Gone...

Found this at bodybuilding.com and thought it was a good idea. If you find a board that doesn't have this info. please post it as we need support from the BB community. It is "just" PH's but it won't end with them if this bill passes. Supposed to be introduced Jan. 7th. Thanks. Here is the form letter and web address to find out who your congressman is:

Dear Congressman ******,

I am writing you regarding House Bill H.R.5564. This bill proposes a ban on prohormonal supplements. I understand that John E Sweeney has the best intentions and wants to keep prohormones out of the hands of our children and professional sports. I do however feel that you should know that numerous studies conclude that prohormones like androstenedione and DHEA have no muscle building properties. These substances do have substantial anti-aging benefits however. As our population gets older, we need the best access to both traditional and alternative medicine. Compounds like androstenedione and DHEA can be used in conjunction with other anti-aging techniques to improve the quality of life for our elderly and reduce the burden on our healthcare system. Please vote no on this bill and help our aging population live with health and dignity.

Your Constituent,

******

I think approaching it from the anti-aging perspective is our best bet for fighting the pro-hormone ban. Now, if someone can get the anti-aging benefits information into the hands of the AARP, a VERY influential lobby, and enlist their help there may be a real chance of saving the pro-hormones.

I think Pat being an expert in the field and "the father of pro-hormones" may have the best chance of convincing the AARP pro-hormones offer benefits to their members and enlisting their aid. Anyone have a high level contact?

Also, go ahead and e-mail your congresman but actually printing out a letter and sending it via snail mail has more impact.

Your right about that. Anyone here have any connections? Also, mods, can we make this a sticky? We need all the help we can get! Thanks.

Get pat in here to give us some good info to write to our congress men to. This is BS and Pat certainly has to be worried about it.

They want to outlaw them because they believe the supplements DO BUILD MUSCLE. Just as tyrants fear an armed populace, they fear a physically strong populace.

They might have been wise when they outlawed exercise equipment in federal prisons because, as they said, they didnt want strong ex cons terrorizing innocent people upon release. But in real life tyrants in big govt and corporate empires fear the general population in the same way they should fear the "ex"-con in some dark alley.

Other than the police, the military, and those with jobs that require strength, why wouldn't you expect govt to think of strong bodies in the same way as they would view assault rifles. Concerns of homeland security will only exacerbate this line of logic. Will martial arts schools or gyms be the next on the list?
We need our version of the NRA!

It does make sense. I mean if you have AAS banned, then pro-hormones should too. That's how it is in Canada. They are banned. And guess what ? No one cares about pro-crap anyway. It's either you juice with the real thing or you stick to creatine, protein powders, L-Glutamine and some scams like Cell-Tech, HMB. The cost of pro-hormones and AAS is almost the same. Sides too and since both are legal for personal usage, then why bother with an inferior compound ?

The real fight should have happened years ago when they banned AAS (same could apply to the Brady Bill).

Now if the gov. has balls (which I highly doubt) they'll ban cigarettes too. I mean look at the list of substances banned by Uncle Sam: cocaine in 1912, absinthes in the 20's along with alcohol (lol), DNP in the 20's too, AAS, GHB. God bless America !

Obviously thousands care about this "pro-crap". You speak with great ignorance. Many of these pro-crap compounds are highly effective legal alternatives to anabolic steroids and are very popular with bodybuilders. If you are not aware of this then you either are under a rock or have deliberately gouged your eyes out

This bill aims to regulate compounds that are metabolically related to testosterone regardless of whether they build muscle. The gov't wants to relieve themselves of the burden of proving any of these as worthy of reclassification as anabolic steroids (which would require scientific tests proving anabolic activity), and instead just throw 20-30 compounds (including DHEA, 7-keto) into the anabolic steroid control act by means of a simple stroke of the pen.

If you want their ever to be a chance to have anabolic steroids decriminalized then we must fight to keep this bill from happening. This bill just strengthens the anabolic control act, and reinforces the inaccurate perception of danger associated with these compounds

Obviously you have no clue about Canadian laws: pro-hormones are considered the same as AAS. So no big deal, unless you have 100 bottles are home. So in a canadian perspective, they have no benefit. In the US there's the legal aspect that might attract some. Here it doesn't. Go check Custom canada stats on pro-hormone seizure................ far away from AAS. Cause few bother to order these.
