There needs to be research on kids in 3rd world countries who have far less immunizations, if any, and compare THEIR rates of autism against the U.S. rates.
quote]
Are you kidding me? Before you promote using these kids as research subjects to prove/disprove the hypotheses of the developed world, how about making sure they have first have equal access to clean drinking water, sanitation systems, and the life-saving vaccines that we take for granted. These children still die of polio, measles, tuberculosis, meningitis, whooping cough, etc. etc.
Give me a break. This sounds so ignorant.

Well, yes, those things too. But couldn't observations be done WHILE people are being helped if there is someone who has the time and means to do it? There of course could be many causes like malnutrition for a child's delayed mental development and I can see how it would be difficult to study, but if multitasking can be done w/o delaying or interrupting meeting the basic needs of children in developing countries, it could add to the data. (I grew up in a developing area btw.) I'm not suggesting they not be administered immunizations. I'm not against immunizations, just the way we do them in the U.S. may be questionable. I don't want to usurp the basic needs of suffering children, but eyes and ears are there, it would be interesting to know as the assumption is Autism is universal and has nothing to do with immunizations or immune systems run amok.
Please, don't just road block me and insult me, point me the way I should go to offer me some hope since everyone one here seems like a scientist with a PHD in everything. Show this feeble minded person where we SHOULD be looking. An army of parents all with the same strong hunch shouldn't be written off on every point regarding immunizations. We live with this everyday. I'm willing to go another direction to find the cause and cure if you have a suggestion.

My point wasn't really that malnutrition and other variables would affect the results, it was that the access to these vaccines could be life-saving to these children. The benefits outweigh the risks in their situation.
It would be unconscionable to use third-world children as guinea pigs for this research. because some would get the vaccines, and of course, some would not. Would you sign your child up for a study as part of the control group when you knew the other group was going to receive life-saving vaccinations?
I am not trying to insult you, and I am sorry for calling you ignorant.
I just got frustrated, because it seems so clear to me that vaccines can make the difference between life and death. There are so many naysayers who create malicious propaganda, thus influencing people's lives and their decisions to vaccinate their children.

I accept the apology and your frustration had you jumping to a lot of conclusions by what I meant. I merely meant data collection, as in how many kids are showing signs of Autism in other areas compared to ours and to document what vaccines they are taking, and by all means have them get what they can since what they can get available to them is barely the minimum.
It's just that when I look at my shot record when I was a child vs. what my children got recommended to get, it's shocking at how many shots are added. It looks like you're Canadian, again I'm talking about how we do this in the U.S. I'm going to try to find a website that lists and compares what each country recommends. You'll see that the U.S. is at the top of the list something like 36 vaccinations while other industrialized countries might only do 10 or 12.

Diptheria,Pertussis,Tetanus
Haemophilus Influenza B
Pneumococcal Menigitidis
Polio
Measles, Mumps, Rubella
Varicella
Hepatitis A
Those are the reccomended vaccinations for children in the United States. 14 diseases covered by 8 vaccines.
Once again, you're an idiot. I would ask you to please not have children, but you've already failed.
I look forward to an 8 page manifesto.

Maybe she gave him some "extra" ones...
