I have started my own thread concerning serious questions I have about supplements like M1T and drug testing.

My next question (thanks for the response Razor Ramone in the linked thread above) about M1T is:

I am very informed on typical narcotic drug tests for narcotics like cocaine, THC, etc. I am NOT very informed on what a typical test for steroids targets.
What exactly does a normal drug test (urine I suppose?) for steroids scan? And is the chemical in M1T among the substances in this scan?

I understand M1T is legal for now but I simply cannot take a chance of a hot test and then hoping later that the tester will understand my explanation that the positive result came from M1T, a legal substance.

ya urine test. and my guess tests will show negative if your on m1t....

if its a test specific for steroids (ncaa tests etc), it will show elevated levels of test. A normal drug test does not scan for steroids, just the major drugs.

So while running M1T I will only have elevated levels of NATURAL testosterone? Hmmmm...

It's pretty much like a steroid. Well any prohormone will give you a positive on a steroid drug test. It's been a while since I read on it but as I remember for every every molecule of testosterone the body produces a byproduct is created. So they test for the correct ratio between testerone and that by product. I forgot the name of it. The extra test from pro hormones or M1T don't have the by product and that's why they will show positive on a test. I think that's really why sports organizations banned pro hormones. It's so athletes can't explain away a positive test with a "I was just taking prohormones" excuse.

Hi there,

I'm not a chemist, but it's my understanding (and this may very well be wrong) that the 'base' molecule of M1T is very similar to oxandrolone, an illegal AAS. I think the double carbon bond is moved on the molecule so that it's not identical to oxandrolone. Very similar chemical properties, of course.

There is almost no doubt that a drug test for steroids would show the metabolic breakdown products of at least one of the common steroids, plus you would have abnormal hormone ratios. If you are subject to testing, I would steer clear of this or any other prohormone product.

If they are testing you for steroids they will be looking at your test/epitest ratio. If either of these are not within specs. they will start looking for metabolites and will "assume" you are using. Depending what you are involved in you may be disqualified.

You're welcome and if that's happened I don't think it's happened for sometime time. Most places that'll test for steroids these days don't allow you to take prohormones either. The only possible ones I could think of who would the police department (for these officers) or the military but generally those guys don't test unless there has already been an incidident.
