My first bridal shower was today!

It was SO fun! Everyone had to write poems about my fiance and I and it turned into a big giggly project. It was a riot to spend an afternoon with so many women and just laugh and eat cake.

My new house is going to be so decked out! The timing of all of this is perfect.

Congratulations on the engagement! That sounds like a great way to experience a bridal shower. All of the showers I've ever been to were either extremely boring or WAY too involved.

The wedding is October 15th.

I was fearing that my mom would have a fit if I wanted to use my gifts. Apparently some people frown up that in the case that the groom bails and the gifts have to be returned. And back in the day people used to pile all of their gifts and display them for months after the wedding as if to say "look how much stuff I got". I find both to be weird. lol

But I have a "no using gifts until the thank-you notes are written rule".
