I see you added some after I quoted you...

That doesn't make sense...You said earliar that

"The Qur'an tells them to wear one in the presence of all men who are not fathers, brothers or spouses."

Why would the husband require his wife to wear one to keep from sinning if she isn't required to wear one in his presence?

But the husband requiring one is not the norm, so I can't say why Cindy's friend was required by her husband to do so considering she isn't religiously obligated to wear one for him. More likely is that he requires her to wear one so that other men do not sin by thinking/acting lustfully towards his wife.

well, then how does covering your hair keep you modest?

Sounds like some booshit

Hijabs cover the head and neck. They are traditionally paired with long sleeved, floor length, shapeless garments that cover and hide the female form in it's entirety.

I can't say why the top of one's head is important to cover. It's similar to conservative Jews wearing yarmelkes and other head coverings in temple.

because AF doesn't want a ninja scaring off their customers.

lol...they are not required to wear these kinds of hijabs, unless you are hizbolla...no ninjas here.

Just some kind of hijab. most husbands give their eives choice, as I did mine.

It's actually the husband's obligation to encourage his wife to wear it as well...

The Qur'an does not require one to cover her face.

The joooose started this whole head-covering thing.

And yes, most women wear them by choice. It's not a huge male hang-up. It's meant to be a sign of a woman's modesty and a sign of respect for her husband. You wear them anytime you'd be around someone you couldn't marry.
