ibuprofen can work but it does damage your liver. why not stick to vicodine for now?

Must be nice to have a "choice" of Muscle relaxers (Vicodin, flexaril, etc) Not to sound "newbyish" but I couldn't get my hands on anything stronger than Ibuprofen if I TRIED....................I'm sore 24/7

sux sometimes, but what the hell

THE "herb"?
or something that actually works X?

try these
Kava Kava Root
Passionflower Herb
Valerian root
Raspberry leaf (tea)
Chamomile tea
Scullcap
Passionflower

Just a small selection to get you started.

Do you "really" notice any benefits from these X?

I've tried almost every one of them, and I've never noticed "anything" (besides the smell of Valerian)

In reality, is there really anything OTC that can compete with script Muscle Relaxers? Or is it like the difference between real test, and something you buy at GNC?

Yeah I do notice the difference, but I don't do rec. drugs like "weed", which tends to make other products fairly ineffective in comparison. If used daily, these herbs work very well.

I don't know any herb that will be like vicodine...

I don't smoke weed or use "any" recreational drugs - I'm looking for a solid muscle relaxer to take when needed, - one that will be strong enought o actually take some pain away.

It's no biggie,........but thanks for your input X

I take it back then...I thought you were one of the kids on here arguing about using weed. I had my facts wrong, my bad. ;) :coffee:

I'll take your vic's and trade you some flexeril for them.

Seriously I always keep Flexeril on hand, my doc keeps them in my medicine chest in case of injury or something. Just ask your doc for them, even if you dont have insurance, they are dirt cheap. One bottle lasts me a year or more unless I have a bad injury.

What would you compare Flexeril to (other drugs)?

I didnt get anything from valerian root either, then I saw my chiro was selling it in his office. He said it is homeopathic and they are monitored for pureness and dosage and testing must match what they advertise. I tried that, and it's not magic but it does work better than what you buy in a CVS or GNC. He also said the homeopathic is much more pure and potent.

flexeril is only relaxer I have had in my life for post surgery, injuries, etc so I dont know of any to compare it too. 10mg will knock you out harder than valium though so watch it if you take one, a few hours later you'll be sleeping.

get at least 800mg of ibeprofen........otc.........unless you can get some soma.....

800 mg/ibuprofen works decent. i have a pretty badly sprained ankle right now and that helps.

but now we are talking anti-inflammatory, not muscle relaxers. If I sprained my ankle, I would have to say Oxycontin usually gets me walking pretty quick, walking funny, but none the less :p

Kava Kava (with a standardized dose of Kavalactones) really worked for me...

Stay away from Vic's man..... if you are hurting from workouts use ultram or something not so addictive, ask a doctor for some alternative. Opiates are bad bad news they will fuck you up.

Whatever you do, dont regulary use Kava Kava it works but its really hard on the body- you wont need your kidneys or liver working overtime just to tone down the pain- its like they say, "Pain is weakness leaving the body".
