Hi guys

I've been reading posts and logs for a while now and even though I still understand only half of what's written I feel slot more educated than before! So thanks ;-)

Basically, I'm 27. 5'8. 67kg. In the last year I've changed my diet and exercise alot. Now doing weights 4/5 days a week with HIIT as warm up. Eating high protein and low low carbs. Feeling really good, but.....

I'm going to Thailand with my boyfriend next week for a month as he does muay thai. I'll be training too but not to compete. A few of the guys there do different growth stuff or steroids.

Can anyone recommend what and if I should take if I want to get really lean and under 65kg and still keep my muscles(they're new and easily scared away I think)!!

Thanks everyone for reading. Happy Christmas xxx

Hey there! Welcome. I don't like to advise on AAs though there are many here who are experienced enough to.
I do recommend that you post up how long you been lifting, your diet and your goals though .

Merry Christmas to you too. And all the best with your goals.

So cool to be going to Thailand to train!! I have trained in Muay Thai and am jealous!! :)

There's a lot you can do with your diet to preserve muscle mass and continue to lean out. I'm thinking you might be training like a maniac over there and I'd be keeping the protein high but reconsider the super low carbs. Carbs, believe it or not, are actually muscle sparing, as well, and you may need the extra energy to keep up with the training.

Any type of steroid will help you build muscle but not necessarily to be taken just to lean out and preserve muscle. We can give you recommendations but we always like to make sure your diet is on point for what you are doing. I really think you can achieve your goals with diet and the training you're doing, which will save you the worry of the side effects too.

I'd move the HIIT to post workout too....you'll get more out of your lifting sessions. Good luck!

Thank you for the response. Hmm, yeah think I will see how much I can push it with just diet and training. Really looking forward to a month in Thailand. It's my 6th time but the first time I will train every day.

I've been doing a high protein-no carb diet for a few weeks now. Other than a little fruit I've been strict and noticing it in the mirror and on the scales. Last week I had 2 cheat days as I celebrated Christmas with my boyfriend. And when I went to the gym after I noticed my muscles looked really cut! I was shocked! ;-) Anyone know the reason behind this?

My diet is so inconsistent as I work shifts and eat at stupid o'clock all the time! Generally it's eggs for breakfast, a shake post workout, chicken/beef/fish is any form for lunch and dinner. I snack on other meats or cheese or nuts. And veggies and salad with any meal too. I do have coffee and alcohol fairly often too. And hot chocolate if I'm craving chocolate! I eat every 3-5 hours and drink lots of water.

I may get my fella to take a before and after photo of out month away, just for shits and giggles! And a bit of extra incentive for me.

Happy Christmas xx

A really quick answer.....muscles are made up of 60-70% water and carbs are the fuel that draws the water into the muscles. It's why you'll lose a decent amount of weight (on the scale) in the first few weeks of low carb dieting. But..it will leave your muscles looking flat. When you put the carbs back in, the muscles fill up and leave you looking full and cut.
