JJ...side chest pose? I will do that after my boobie surgery!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, you've made my day. I'm pretty upset right now...I hurt my shoulder arm wrestling (first and last time I'm gonna do that) on Sat. night and didn't realize what it was from until today. Tomorrow morning I have an appt. with a chiropractic kinesiologist that my massage therapist recommended me to a couple of days ago. I've been in some nasty pain this week and really need some relief. Anti-inflamatories are reaking havock with my diverticulitis and IBS. I just want to feel better again. Couldn't do shoulders tonight so I added in some extra leg work.

This board is so full of inspiration for me. Every time I've had a problem or question, someone here has always helped me out. You're all such wonderful people. Huggggs to you all.

i saw your post earlier this week about the armwrestling and i tried to post to you to be careful, because that is part of the reason my shoulders are screwed, or at least contributed, but elite was running slow, and after trying 3 times to post, i gave up! get you some glucosamine to take as well, it's worked wonders for me and my hubby, as we are plagued with injuries, lol, must be age catching up with us, eh? get better girlie

MrsP -- I have a shoulder injury that at times is so painful that I cannot work my chest with regular grip-- it is in the anterior delt.

I did not want to start with sports med doc or orthopod. I wanted to try to rehab it myself. I went to a chiropractor for ART (active release technique). The chiro the first few sessions did some ultrasound treatments (no physical adjustments) and we also did some PT moves. He suggested Metagenics Collagenics supplements, B6, B12 and Vita e. While I cannot do his explanation justice, I did try it all. After a few visits he did ART.

I loved it. My shoulder was doing very well -- only hurt it recently again-- was messy on some form going heavy working shoulders and it is no where near the injury I had - just a little sore at the moment.

In this month's Oxygen, there is a good article on ART -- and it has done me good -- you may wish to try it.

Feel better.

Tex...gonna take the gluc...hubby has some already. I know it's good for joint probs. Thanks a million for reminding me of my age. If it wasn't for hubby's promisses of a really good b-day party I'd just skip this one. ;)

I'm not happy with myself for acting so goofy and armwrestling. I had old problems there which are now really agrivated plus I messed up the elbow. I didn't even notice it, but my elbow is all swollen and partly out. The pain radiates both downward to my hand and up to my shoulder...I just thought it was coming from my neck/shoulder. My grip is weak and my hand is swollen. The doc had me hold my thumb and pinkey together and he would try to seperate them...the right side had almost no strength to fight him. :(

The doctor pointed out the old problems of carpell tunnel and bad neck alignmnet plus he said there is tendonitis in my bicep and forearm. Since the time I nursed my daughter, I've had a knot in my shoulderblade that gets better and gets worse. When it's bad, the deep tissue massage helps. He said it's like the shoulderblade is trying to attach itself to the ribs...something to that effect. Has anyone ever heard of anything like that?

He wants me to increase the deep tissue massage that I normally only get from time to time for a while and use some moist heat. He thinks he can help me with the elbow and neck stuff in 3 or 4 visits. After the adjustment today I realized how bad my neck was...when I was talking in the car with my daughter, I was actually able to turn my head around and LOOK at her! :rainbow: The elbow wasn't such an easy fix though...that's what'll take a few visits to get back in order. Plus he's going to review what we talked about and figure out some suplements for me.

The doc said that I should not take Advil because it will actually slow recovery. He said I could continue to lift, but avoid the delts for a bit and go light on upper body stuff. I never realized how much you use your elbow until today...especially in the gym. Tonight all I did was abs and some lower back and even with the ab work I was feeling it in my elbow. I had to skip doing some excercises. I am not a happy camper! I'm most upset about the elbow thing because I have to use elbows to jump rope...my new favorite thing to do. I really need to be dong some kind of cardio to kick up my metabolism, so until the elbow is better I'll use my treadmill for a change.

I go back to the doc. and then for some deep tissue massage on Monday.
