Motivational QUOTES

Heya

What kind of Motivational Quotes or even things you keep telling yourslef while training do you think of to keep you motivated?

Here's a real simple and basic one that I always tell myself. "Whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger." Works for anything in life.

It depends on my mood, I use all sorts of things for motivation. Wether it is something someone said to me, or just something I heard and liked. Music can sometimes get me going a little too..or pouring water on my head when i am lifting(those morning workouts kill me).

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

-Arnold

I just keeping saying 'boobs' to myself over and over again. I get pretty fired up.. It works for me.

Oh new habit, I count out my reps German, it freaks people out and I use that energy.

counting the reps in German lol: i am gonna try it, i think it will convince myself and the people around me that i went temporarily insane which in turn will help me to crank out a few extra reps in berserker mode, as you are no longer limited by yourself but by the beast you unleash, neat....

My signature/quote below is my favorite. Motivates me to stand up against anything that tries to oppress me. And in order to stand up against greater evils, you need power! And that's where it comes into my training.

....Lou ferrigno told his spotters to shout "Anold Arnold!" when he was near the sticking point. The desire to beat Arnold usually granted him another two - three reps....

I motivate myself before i get to the gym. If i haven't done it beofre i've started my workout, it's all over.

I will start thinking about my workout about half an hour before i get to the gym, and just go through the exercises, sets and reps in my mind and what i want to achieve that day. Having played various competitive sports for a number of years, i learned to motivate myself and psyche myself up before a game. Now i translate that to the gym.

Not exactly a quote but someone posted this months ago. I still read it as needed.

Intensity is an elusive topic. Vague and indefinable. Yet one thing is certain. You know deep down when you have it. It isn't determined by a fancy title or the decree of some exercise authority. It's inside. You can't fake it. Your muscles won't let you. That's what's so amazing about bodybuilding. It's you -- against yourself. You do the work. You reap the reward. Just remember, there's a difference between passion and hostility. Don't try to beat your body into submission. Approach each set, each rep with concentration and dedication and the intensity will take care of itself. Train as long, or as short, as it takes. Just make sure you get the job done.

Some quotes I have heard

"The body only gives up when the mind lets it"....

"Who wants to be mediocre?"

"There might not be another tomorrow."

“Ability is what your capable of doing,
Motivation determines what you do,
Attitude determines how well you do it.”

“Trample the weak, hurdle the dead.”

“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

“Once a task has begun,
Never quit until its done,
Be the labor great or small,
Do it well or not at all.”

“May the load be light and the weight be heavy but never drop the bar.”

there are some of my favorites

My old sig used to be something like that "satisfaction is the death of desire"...its the title of a hatebreed album, back before they were mainstream garbage.

That´s a great fucking idea!

ein! zwei! (forgot how to say three)

Who needs silly quotes when you think that every single day that you have on this earth is another chance to improve yourself, to take yourself higher, to be worthy of the bountiful gifts that are bestowed on you.

Here's what keeps me going:

When I wake up in the morning and I feel my legs, my arms, all my fingers and toes, my hair spread across the pillow, my heart pumping - the LIFE flowing through my body - when I wake up and know that I am alive and my body is strong and healthy and has all the right parts in the right places and they all work as they are supposed to.

When I head into the kitchen and I can CHOOSE what I wish to eat. I actually have a CHOICE! :) I can have oatmeal, or rice, or eggs, or chocolate if I want it, I can have skim or whole milk, I can have Cocoa Pops if I really want to! Or if I REALLY want to, I can have ALL of them! I turn on the tap and CLEAN fresh water comes out of it! I can CHOOSE to go to the gym if I want to. I can EVEN CHOOSE which gym shoes I want to wear.

Jesus fucking christ people, do you have any CLUE at ALL how lucky you are??? We are the elite of the elite on this ragged planet - we are blessed with so much we are spoilt with plenty. Frankly, anyone who has a choice and doesn't strive to achieve the absolute highest peak of their potential, physically and mentally and emotionally and in every way possible, is a waste of good clean air.

OK, I'll step off my podium now - I promise, I'm not a religious zealot - I just feel so lucky to be alive. Life is so beautiful ...

:)

steelweaver: nice post, I have never rreally thought about it that way...

Honestly it is my pride that keeps me going when others fail. I don't give in because I know somewhere inside there is greatness ready to be unleashed. The fury I feel overwhelms me and I can think of nothing else but succeeding where others have faltered only in the mind....not the body....

pride and ego........ thats what this game all boils down to.

i have to much pride, i sweat pride everyworkout. and when i fall down after a heavy set i lay there, dying, thinking that i cant belive that i acutally just did that, that was impossible. and get up and i turn around and there is that beautiful pride field sweat outline of where i fell, and when i stand there looking over myself i am VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!......... there lays what is dead, what i was but only moments ago, but i rose, i am the victor, i am the conqueror of MYSELF!!!!...... i beat me, and i am the only one who can ever beat me, not you or anyone else, if i am ever defeated it is because i just let me get beat by myself,

but when i win, i am the hero of the day, and thats all that matters......... but the funny thing about it is, is that everyone in my rinky dink gym is oblivious to that fact, they have no clue of the war i wage within myself every workout, its not a matter of looking good or being strong, its being better than the me that is laying on the ground, the me i just obliterated, the one laying dead in humiliation on the floor, than he ever thought i could be.

now that......... is motivational.
