Most evil period - please share

I dare any guy to chime in on this thread ... LOL - I'm sure any one of them who happens to accidently read this is probably regretting it in a hyuge way. TMI.

When I was in my teens I used to cramp up so bad that would act like I was deathly sick for at least 2 days / month. I've been regular like clock work except for 4 times in my life:
- stopped for 4 months, came back, and then another 4 months - matching exactly my first semester away from home in colllege, return for xmas, and then back to school for spring. (Pretty obviously stress...)
- last 2 months of graduate school while I was renting a room from a friend & her husband and their cats, had my thesis research grant cancelled out from under me & my advisor managed to screw up my reigstration papers such that I graduated with a different degree than I went in for.
- first BB show
- 2nd BB show

Then let's talk about the nastiness of a cryo treatment if you've ever had a pap smear come back with those "abnormal cells" indicators. You sit there and freak out about the chance that you have ovarian cancer or something and wonder if there's some history of cancer in your family that you don't know about until the doc tells you that somethign like 10 % of all pap smears come back with the abnormal cell thing. And it doens't have to be cancer and it doesn't have to be hereditary. So they just freeze (cryo) off the bad stuff. Then you have to wait for all the stuff they froze to "evacuate" itself. This is just gross. But then so is cancer ...

OK I haven't had an actual visual period in just over a year (even on OC) and I have to tell you I feel like absolute hell. I'm crampy like no cramp ever felt before, I'm actually losing clots of blood, sick to my stomach, headachy, slightly bloated nothing bad, and feel an overall grossness (word?).

Please make it stop.
SOOOOOOOB
:bawling:

OC's (over the counter) ?

I think you need to see a dr. about the blood clots.
I had blood clots when I was on the pill and also when I had an IUD.

Are you on any of these types of BC pills?

I get headaches now, like Starfish... PMS sucks. :chomp: :chomp:

Oh sorry, Oral Contraceptive: Demulen to start and now, tried Yasmin and Alesse (horrible Horrible experience).

One OB/GYN told me getting pregnant would solve all my problem (no joke - he also has a half dozen kids but he's nice guy) so I went to another and she said rather bluntlythat I'll never get pregnant.

So here I am, once a year period girl.
I actually don't mind not getting a period and when I do it only lasts 48-35 hours tops, this one just happens to have been a bad one.

You poor thing! That really sucks.

So the drs. aren't really concerned about the clots?

I've heard that to. What the dr. said about getting pregnant, from a girl who was
having bad periods. And she had endometriosis. And the drs. told her that would help if she got pregnant.
But she ended up with having a hysterectomy.

Sorry I should have know about the oc's it's been so long since I've taken any!
Hope your feeling better today.:doc:

you got a good one there smurfy. :)

Yesterday morning I woke up with an awful cold. To make matters worse, by early evening my period started...about 4 days early. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

My periods are awful for the first 12-24 hrs. often to the point of immobility. Muscle relaxants and anti-inflamatories combined together are the only thing that help. I bleed heavy for the first 3-4 days with clots like you wouldn't believe. Heavy flow tampons and overnight pads together for the first two days then I can switch to regular pads and tampons. Then on the 5th day it suddenly lightens up and just a tampon is fine for another 2 or 3 days. I put on about 5 lbs of water just before my period starts too. Even on test cycles I've never missed a period.

When I was younger, up until I was 25 my periods were very irregular, usually going 3-4 months without one. Then I got my period for 6 months in a row then missed one...I was pregnant! I was shocked because years earlier I'd been diagnosed with PCOD and the dr. said I would likely have difficulty conceiving. After my daughter was born I nursed her...they say that will help keep the periods away longer. No such luck, 6 weeks after she was born I was back to monthly periods. My cycles used to be about 36 days apart back then, now they're more like 25. I can't wait for menopause so I don't have to deal with this shit anymore! My mom continued to get her period up into her late 50's...I sure hope that doesn't happen to me.

Dang Puddles you poor thing.

Do you take Iron pills? I know with the amount of bleeding I have (with is not much compared to what you explained) I have to take iron pills.

I remember my Mom having to use tampons and kotex at the same time.
Yes I'm with you, I look forward to menopause!

Pamela :)
