more reasons to sprint?

isn't John Beradi really small (and not cut), like most of the guys who write articles for t-mag?

yeah i find it quite rude that those t-mag guys are so small. I think its TC.......my dad is bigger (and stronger) than him...and he works out once a month and is over 50.

look at it like this: Last night i was watching a young kid train at a sports academy.
The coach looked he had never sprinted in his life; YET this kid makes progress every training session and every track meet.

its a qualification thing.

I know many coaches who can tell you "how to get big"......but dont want to do themselves, for personal or sporting reasons.

I am a strength and conditioning coach....i was telling people how to get slim. when i weight 250lbs. I weight 230 now.........but people still listen to me, because i have this piece of paper that says i am a level one sports coach, and strength and conditioning level 1.

how did it affect your leg strength? were you squatting heavy at this time?

yes I was squatting heavy - it made my sprinting go faster :)

also the sprinting while help your squat go up, so treat it as a another full workout. Your erectors get caned.

Be careful when first starting out. I sprinted a few months ago, kept trying to go faster on a 50 yard dash. Probably ran it about 7 times. I was painfully sore and limping for over a week. Oh the hamstrings! Don't go all out until you've done it a few times. I thought my legs would be fine because I'd been squatting... wrong.

hmmm i have to think about this one.

m:front squat 80% 5 sets of 3 reps
w:back squat 80% 6 sets of 3 reps
friday: front squats 80% 5 sets of 3
sat: sprints????????????????

the problem is i will be cleaning and snatching every training day. (as well as other OLY movements, pulls)

might just lower the percentages till i can manage the volume.

why not do it after the friday front squats - just a few hours later?

that way you get more recovery time on the weekend

From the pics i've seen of this guy, he looks tiny as hell and not cut. I just meant though, I personally don't believe most of the t-mag shit because i've never seen any of them with impressive physiques and you'd think if ANY of the shit worked, they could at least start looking like they worked out.

Don't be so quick to dismiss T-Mag. For all the crap that they do manage to spin, they DO post some excellent articles (that are well referenced) from some top coaches and experts.

a good coach has either a)been there (a high level) himself or b) previously coached others to such a high level.

In most cases a great coach has done both.
