Military press- Standing or seated?

Which one is more effective and safer to use?
Would the seated military be safer in that it would be harder to hyperextend the back in doing the movement.
If you were doing a standing military are the knees meant to be in a locked position or slightly bent.

IMO standing MP is better cus you are able to recruit more muscles such as your core.

I use a split stance where one foot is a little ahead of the other and both knees are bent a little. Its an athletic posture so dont overthink it.

No contest...Standing. Remember more muscles used is the key. You want that full body experience involved anytime you can..if not we would all be doing squats on the smith machine.

Standing is definitely superior, and if you're doing it right/effectively and maintaining proper form (i.e. not trying to turn it into a standing bench press) back safety shouldn't be an issue. Technically, military press is with feet together, but I and I think most others use a standard standing press stance with feet apart (basically, what feels "natural").
