Metal Militia put my article on their site!

everybody please post updates periodically if you use these methods. i'm curious how it works for other people compared to regular westside like i'm doing

I was lucky enough, being a freind of the author, to receive and advance copy of this masterpiece. I think it was very well written, and shows what these Beasts from the East are doing in their training. I know it was an eye opener for me. I myself am going to sub in a MM style day, for every other M.E. day this cycle.

I am very hopeful this will be beneficial to my training. I am lucky enough to be doing this workout, or something similar every other week with bigokie, who as those who know him will agree, is an inspirational person to train with.

Hoping for big things from all the Elite Crew in 2003!!! Train hard and smart.

Wow.. That was an awsome and exceptionally inspiring article.. I am definitly interested in incorporating some of their techniques into my WSB program now.. Especially after I get my shirt back from Karen.. I had some real issues with it.. The first time I got it the chest width measurement was WAY off.. But that was due to me being measured incorrectly.. Then I got it back and then had to send it back because the arms were too tight.. I had gained about an inch on them from when the original measurtements were made... Then this time it got lost in UPS coming back to me.. It ended up being sent to a moving company in Atlanta, but they were never able to find the package.. So Karin had to make me another shirt which im still waiting on......

so when you train shirt reps, do you pull the bar down to touch for every rep or just let it touch when the weight gets heavy enough?

is that single rep on ME day a 1rm every week?

I'm thinking about doing something similiar to Bench Monster...In that I will follow the MM Bench training every other week for both days, then on alternate weeks stick with my normal ME and DE days... I know I still need DE days for my lagging speed so I don't think it would be in my best interest "YET" to change over completly... But after reading their stuff I have countless ideas floating around as to how I can incorporate their stuff in, so we'll see.... Should be fun.... Now if I can only find some decent training partners who are into powerlifting......

i have the same problem. it would be soooo much fun to have guys to bust my ass with under the bar. motivation, spotters, helpers w/ shirts, etc.

too bad all i can find is prissies. i'll have to look harder i suppose

Well, both actually. One, you learn how to pull the shirt up and it allows you to touch with less weight by not getting maximum support out of the shirt. This should help everyone to feel more comfortable with their opener as well.

Two, if the weight won't touch, the weight won't touch. But if you can't get the weight to touch by the third rep, it's either too light or the shirt is too tight. They have a knack for getting under 500 to touch on their shirts when its pulled up and the weight is dropped down fast and then touch-and-go. - And then when pulled up for maximum support, 700 is hard to touch using the same shirt.
