Melatonin kicks ass!!!

I have a hard time going to sleep during the week, so as a result, I am always tired and can't wait until the weekend to catch up on my sleep. Well, when the weekend comes, I usually go to sleep much later than usual, and for some goddammed reason, it is the only time that my body wakes up on time for work on its own.
I hate this 'cause as much as I try, I can never go back to sleep and wind up starting the week in a "burntout" state and repeat the cycle over an over and over. This has been going on for quite some time now. It used to be that I could sleep in until 2 or 3 in the afternoon every weekend.
Well I recently bought some melatonin, 3 mg per pill, took 3 before I went to bed last night some time after midnight and did not wake up until around 11:30 this morning. FUCKING GREAT!!! At that, the only reason I woke up is 'casue I had to take a killer piss, otherwise I would probably have slept much longer. It is now 2:30 PM and I still feel very groggy, waiting for it wear off so I can get to them gym. Maybe next time I'll only take 2.

Any one out there having trouble catching your Z's, try some melatonin, it worked great for me (so far). Although, I'd be scared to try it during the week, might not wake up on time.

:nighty:

I use it also. 3 of the 3mg's will knock you out like that. Cut back to 2 if you have to get up, and make sure you don't take them any closer than 8 hours before you must be away.

I dislike it because of the haze it leaves me in the morning after. I try to use Ambien to reset my sleep cycle as needed.

I like melatonin a lot too. The only thing is, it only works if you use it sparingly. If you try to take it every night, your body will adjust within a couple days and you'll have to take more and more for it to work. So I'd suggest taking it only when you need it.

Synpax ambien and melatonnin are on a completely different level. Ambien is hardcore shit and you get seriously addicted to it if you use it for more then a couple weeks. I used it for 2 years and it was bad news. Melatonnin does not work anywhere near as good for me but it doesn't give me side effects other then a little groggyness.

Don't forget, melatonin slows down your metabolism, and based on what people have said over the years, it can have the effect of becoming somewhat addictive - as in, you will have a hard time getting to sleep without it.

Is there a specialist around there ?

I have noticed that the more is not the better : 0.5mg works best for me than 3mg or 4.5mg

and I have read that with lower dosage you sleep as well w/o the side effects

Any infos on that ?
