Master Cleanse....

the maple syrup diet that beyonce invented to fit in a dress? talk about being a complete scam, acting like the dude invented it. it's terrible, but funny. anyone who thinks that drinking lemonade and maple syrup is healthy, let alone a good way to lose weight should reconsider going back to college.

I did this clense a few years back. I did it for three days and lost 12 pounds. It was mostly water weight and I felt weak and hungry all three days. I had very low energy and felt generally crappy.

The easiest way to lose weight is to track what you normally eat in a day and then cut your calories down to 1500-2000 a day. A great web-site that helps you do this is fitday. As we all know, you have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound of fat, so start tracking your cals, and eat a clean diet and the weight will come off. If you want it to come off quicker, order some LIPOFLAME from Omega. That shit really works amazingly! But like anything else, diet and exercise is the key.

I was really thinking of trying it more to get all the CRAP outta my system...rather than lose weight.

I've also heard/read that days 2,3,7 are the hardest to follow...they recommend at least 10 days to totally flush the system.

I don't know...just thinking about it.

the lemonade diet.. works pretty good actually..

you can't fuck around with it at all though.. like not in the fucking slightest..

you can't even chew gum because it could throw your body into shock.. you'll dream about food and shit..

or smoke etc etc..

I did this once for seven days the first 3-4 are the hardest because all the toxins are floating around your system, it works pretty well and I know alot of extremely healthy people who do this on a fairly regular basis.

I agree with friendlycanadian.
I was also on it for 7 days.
When you come off you cant eat solid food right away. The first day is orange juice then broth. It sucks, but I did feel better when it was over.

sorry guys, lemonade diet doesn't work at all. it's all in your head.

if you need anecdotal proof, it's in the very fact that people consistently reuse the diet to lose weight or detoxify themselves. that immediately indicates 1.) it's a short term fix, if at all 2.) you mostly lose water weight, which can be accomplished through mild diuretics like caffeine and adequate consumption of water.

there's a difference between shocking your body to lose weight and legitimate cutting diets, the former being absolutely horrendous for health, teeth, bowel movements and the likes, and the latter being utilized to increase fat oxidation. essentially, a hard cutting diet should be done to get those last few stubborn pounds.

if you're using this diet to detoxify yourself, you've been fed too much hype and haven't done enough research. like I said, anecdotal (i.e. testimonial) evidence doesn't prove anything. i could eat pudding for 10 days and if I looked good afterwards I could call it the magical pudding diet. still doesn't make pudding healthy.

Oh and here's real proof it doesn't work.

Dr. Ed Zimney, the medical director of HealthTalk, a Seattle-based Web site where a lively debate about the cleanse has flourished, said: "Your gastrointestinal tract does not need to be cleaned out because it is constantly in motion. This whole idea of cleaning out toxins from the colon is a complete myth and unnecessary."

The Master Cleanse was invented 60 years ago by nutrition guru Stanley Burroughs, who wrote the book "The Master Cleanser" in 1976. The formula is purified water, organic lemon juice, cayenne pepper and organic grade B maple syrup, which is less refined than the more commonly used grade A.
