I've never been a fan of most make up - I either rub it off or eat/lick it off - always been a problem for me. (I'm a spaz)

Gloss has always been my best friend - I eat it off - put it back on, no mirror needed.

Foundation/concealer - I swear the right color does not exist - too pale/pink, too beige warm or too dark.

What's a girl to do?

(Wear mascara and gloss that's what she does)

Then I found this beauty!

It's called bare minerals and the whole line is powdered minerals.

I found my color - for those nights out.

Found the best dark circle cover up - they call it bisque (also hides breakouts!)

For every day use I use the bisque and the mineral veil (which is like translucent powder) and if need one of the blushes/warmth.

They have blushes - very nice, very natural.

Eyeshadow - haven't tried it.

My next purchase is going to be liner, lipstick and gloss - a girl can never have too many lip colors.

Take a peek.

Foundation is the hardest thing for me to find. I swear every time I find just the right one the company discontinues it. I've got mixed skin, oily in parts, dry in others, and now I'm starting to get wrinkles, so the right foundation is important. I've been using Merle Norman's Luxiva, SPF 12 and love it.

A little make-up trick I just learned a few months ago is to brush on just a little blush or bronzer powder (whatever you use on your cheeks) over your eyeshadow and it really pulls the colors together giving a more natural appearance.

Ohhhh!!! I've been seriously considering getting that Velvett. I don't like the idea of coating my skin in a mess of assorted unnatural crap which is what initially made me want to try bare minerals. I feel like something light and natural like that has to be better for my skin than other stuff.

That's it. Now I have to try it.

Sounds awesome Vel..... might have to check it out. I've seen it before.... but I am such a MAC fan, it would take A LOT to change my allegiance to MAC..... :)

and I TOTALLY agree with the "can't get too many lip colors"...I swear I buy more lipstick than anyone. :) I love the stuff. Funny thing is, I rarely wear it during the week...only on weekends. Who has every heard of an elementary school teacher stopping her lesson to put on her lipstick. :) :)

I'm like you, unless I am going to go out, I don't wear a lot. My eyeshadow, mascara, and all that are very natural. I don't wear blush because I have a tendency to turn red part of the time anyway, lol. I swear by lip stuff though, normally gloss or chapstick, unless I have time to put on lipstick. lol. I can't stand my lips being dry or bare. :)

Thanks Velvett..
I have the hardest time finding the right make up!

Daisy,,,,, Together we could probably open up a lip stick store! :)

I just started selling skincare because I love the stuff...no more dark circles under my eyes and a nice lift cream that really works!! I'm pretty low maintiance in the makeup dept. but you have to have great skin to put it on!

I have to agree with Daisy about MAC. My wife had the same problem not being able to find the right foundation for years. we spent 20mins at the MAC store one day and a sales rep found the right one for her. It is matches her perfectly. . . She uses a stick to treat/conceal spot blemishes, then she applies the MAC foundation and last some sort of skin highlight foundation. We like going to NightClubs and I think she looks sexy wearing some glitter, we found some great looking MAC glitter it is pink/purple very subtle and tasteful... I defiantly have to Agree MAC is the shiznit hands down.

I went to the site, I'm just curious.... If you can only get this stuff thru mail order, how can you find the right tone for your skin? I found that it is better to have sales rep try different colors on you to find the right one. How can that be done with this product?
