mail order meals

Are there any decent mail order meal companies out there? If so, are they all for weight loss... or is there any such company that allows customization?

Not really, not if you don't want to spend about $9 per meal. Is there any particular reason you're looking into this? Time constraints, perhaps?

My job requires me to be on call 24/7 and I work in remote areas a lot (oilfield). I live in Houston with access to good groceries, but I can only pack so much in a cooler. I end up at local grocers, or wal-mart. Hard to keep it on hand, let alone cook all the time. I may work two weeks, or even a month without days off. I never know. This also makes it tough to sit down and plan a calculated daily menu like many of you do.

I have the same problem with not having enough time. I ordered the Nutrisystem program. It was delivered to my door like 4 days after i ordered it in a big 43 lb box. It cost me $330 for 6 weeks of meals, roughly $55 a wk

Its packed with alot of fiber and protein to give you that full feeling but you have to supply your own fruits and vegetables. Its convenient, but wouldnt recommend it as a weight gainer.

pre make shakes with milk, whey powder, 2 egg whites, and a handful of oats per shake. this way you have them ready to go and its whole food.

you could also make your own frozen dinners. just buy plastic containers and make chicken or beef with mixed veggies in brown rice. if you cooked it all at once once per weak and kept them frozen they would be fine.

i have yet to see a pre packaged meal that wasnt loaded with sodium and fillers.

I like this idea. thanks. I sometimes live on location for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. I'll use any downtime I have to grill/cook any food I can.
