Low-Normal test levels?

fakename

New member
Hi,

Been on the board for a while but wanted some anonymity with this one. I am 27 years old and had my natural test levels measured for the first time by the doc last week due to some symptoms that i have been having. regardless, results came back as follows:

total - 474 ng/dl
free - 92 pg/ml or 1.9% free

now this falls in the normal range according to the lab, but isn't this low for a 27 year old? doc won't even talk to me about it but wants to prescribe anti-depressants....what do u guys think?

Thanks

Your doctor is an absolute idiot who does not have a clue. Find one who specialises in hrt. What country are you in

constant lethargy, depression, easily irritable, no facial hair, minimal body hair, timidity, lack of agression...

the only thing that is right on is sex drive.

mine was 492 and I'm 28. My sex drive took a serious dive a couple of years ago...btu I was always extremely skinny and late to develop.

I have avg facial and body hair.

I still sometimes feel lethargic, but it's better now.

At wht time did you have this test, in the morning or evening?

And most important can u give us the lab references/ranges for your tests. THeir machines are calibrated...and not all ranges are the same.

I think 472 is low, but often its more important hwo you use the testosterone...ie how much free test you have.

Test was taken at 9am.

I measured at:

total 474
free 92.3
percent free 1.95

reference ranges
250-1100
35-155
1.10-2.80

Your testing results are within range. You are not a candidate for legal HRT.

You are wrong no standard doctor will do it as they dont have the knowledge any antiaging dr will and it will be paid for by insurance.

do anti-aging docs typically accept insurance? i have found a long sitance prescribing physician but not sure if this is the best option as i won't be continuously monitored...

may be the only option at this point though...

I am not sure for doctors I was actually talking about the paynment of the drugs most insurance companies pay for it so it obviously is lega and legit. I would advise you to check out "mesomorphosis forum" type it into google. It is mainly based in US and has data for finding doctors as well as 3 very competant drs on the board all of which would most likely be infavor of trying hrt over antideps

If anyone knows of an AAG doc that works with insurance let me know!
I can't find a one...they will all give you the diagnosis codes etc...and then you have to submit to your insurance. Problem is you still have to come up with a few grand to even get started and hope your insurance reimburses. Not an option for me really.

i feel you on that. especially when i have a provider that will get me started for much less but it is long distance so there is no doc on hand to monitor me...

My Dr codes all his treatment so I am reimbursed by my insurance carrier.
All his prescriptions are covered also.

Here is a directory of anti-aging Drs.

im 23 hav alll the symptoms done a few big cycles in the past with crap pct ..didnt really notice the symptoms until about a year and a half after my last cycle

got my blood tests done and test results came back as in the normal range except for prolactin which was slightly elevated

been basically feelin shitty ,depressed ,anxious, moody, low libido, girly etc etc ..

Endo put me on dostinex as i had slightly elevated prolactin levels and also on arcalion to figure out if my low sex drive was related to hpta and dopamine levels thou it did increasse energy levels (alcalion) it wasnt much help with the libido... was on arcalion (sulbatimine) treatment for 3 mths .

after this i was put on a SSRI (sertraline) for another 3 weeks to check wether depression was the cause of low sex drive etc ...no change with this either

now im on andriol testocaps (testosterone undecanoate) 40mg twice a day for 2weeks
and todays the 9th day. libido ,mood and wellbeings improved a bit ...much more than with all the other treatments iv taken (libido being the main factor)

will be seeing the endo in a few days...not sure what he has planned
maybe i might hav to take TRT but hope i can do a high dose hcg ,clomid ,nolvadex cycle to bring my balls back on line...any suggestions?

if he does put me one trt ill prob make him giv me 100mg/wk of enanthate with hcg every week..acc to what iv read,,,lets see

Can't you just ask your insurance company beforehand if they'll reimburse ??
