-breaking and firing the air traffic controllers who striked
-economic recovery act which cut down the top rates and the low end tax rates
-creating another tax reform ( i forgot the name) that cut the top end down a few more percentage points
-freezing minimum wage
-cutting money to local govs by over 50%
-cutting fed support for the epa, fed education programs, food stamps, welfare and medicaid
-stopped gov price fixing of petro
-funding the shit out of the war on drugs
-appointed rehinquist and scalia to the supreme

all of which would make grover norquist quite content.
RR was a politican who understood the art of compromise, he worked with the house dems (i don't recall him calling them enemies or telling them to get to the back of the bus) something definetly lost on obama and more hardline repbulicans of modern times...

You forgot to mention that Reagan compromised for $1.00 in new taxes for $3.00 in cuts. Reagan compromised and the taxes were raised but there were no cuts by the Dem congress...I don't blame the Repubs for not trusting the Dems when it comes to cutting expenditures;They're the "bread and circuses" party.

On Illegals, Reagan agreed to amnesty for roughly six million on the condition congress would appropriate the funds to secure the border and create a sustainable immigration program with guest workers etc...Once again, he was pwned by the Dems who got what they wanted, amnesty for all, and didn't follow through with their promises. Today, the Dems want amnesty for 12 million on the promise of securing the border and creating a better immigration process.

I don't blame the Repubs, fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice...shame on me.

I honestly don't know for sure as I know a few say that but it doesn't seem like that's the direction the house and senate as a collective are going. It's bullshit if it is. The republicans piss me off just as much though because they don't want to impose "any" sanctions on companies caught using these workers....these companies are the ones who create the demand for this labor in the first place and are the ones advertising jobs on the other side of the border. If there's no illegal jobs to be had there won't hardly be any illegals comin over.

lol, I agree about Reagan, not a fan of his military spending which grew the budget. Likewise, not a fan of Shrub or Barry who has overseen the largest explosion of deficit spending in human history with limited results...at least FDR fought WWII. Barry exploded the deficit and has achieved next to nothing.

Before you bring up Bin Laden..he wasn't consequential other than as a symbol since 9/11 and Bush invaded Afghanistan. Likewise, more domestic terrorists have attempted attacks in the first two years of Obama than the eight years of the shrub admin. That tells me that our "allied" Muslims are tired of our jihad against Islam and the United States needs to focus on the handful of terrorists...They aren't a nation state but we are alienating nation states with our tactics that don't make us safer.
