Low carb SAFE restaurant food

junk

New member
Every weekend, I let myself go out and eat at a fancy restaurant,
helps with the mood and besides I LOVE food.

Especially when dieting, I won't cheat and avoid eating deserts.
When low carbing, I would of course try to avoid as much as
possible sugary or carb containing food, even though I would
alwas take some 300-500mg of r-ALA with the food.

I am looking for 'safe' low carb foods. I wonder if there is
such a compiled listing somewhere.

For example, when eating chinese is which soup will harm the least? Which main course is better ? Couldn't find any listing
on the web except for fast foods listings.

Thanks Babyfaced Assassin

I know tandoori chicken, chicken tikka tastes so good :)

What about chinese and japaneese? (My favourites)

japanese you can't go wrong with Sashimi imo :D
problem with japanese and chinese food in particular is the hidden sugar you get in the food :(

Example, Salmon or Chicken Terriyaki seems good but it's probably marinated in sauce which cotnains sugar but i doubt it will be a great deal maybe 10g? i dont know but if it's once a week it shouldn't be a major problem... if i go t a restaurnt chich is once or twice a month i dont care what i eat ;)

Chinese is alot more difficult though... steamed bamboo shoots and chestnuts?

Chinese: brocolli beef/chicken
Jap: fish and veggies; mahi mahi and ahi ahi fish would work (raw)

in chinese restaurants ask for no msg and no cornstarch or sugar
ask them to thicken the sauce with egg whites
ups the protien and eliminates the refined carb sources

LOL!
You have to make the decision, do you want msg and salt on your food or do you want it spit in?

Some places are cool about this, more and more resturants and cafes are opening up all the time that are catering to the fitness crowd, pretty soon it wont be a problem....we can all rejoin society again!
