Lots of tips for burning extra calories...

Remember- Every calorie burned adds up. If you can build 5lbs of muscle you will automatically burn an extra 175-250 calories/day (Muscle taking 35-50 cals/lb/day to maintain, studies vary..) So in 14-20 days you'll burn one pound of fat. (given calories in diet are the same throughout) Thats 18-26 pounds of fat per year!

But some people just can't shake the fat. Building muscle isn't enough. These people excercise 30-60min/day, 4 times per week and they lose some fat but not as much as they would like and not as fast as they would wish to. You must remember it takes time. Also, you cannot just put your 'excercise' time in and then be a 'sloth imitator' the rest of the time and expect miracle results. Sorry but it doesn't work that way. You must remain active if you ever plan to be skinny. Sitting down and looking like a fat statue is simply not active! And combined with M&M's and Doritoes as your reward for excercising, you might as well forget the whole thing, seriously! Otherwise lets get PUMPED and start getting active NOW!!!

By the way, I would not expect anyone to do all these things. Pick a few things each week from the list and slowly add them to your calorie burning routine.

~ Every Calorie Adds Up~

1. Drink ice water. Burns 1 calorie per ounce at 40 degrees farenheit. So 8 calories per cup.
2. Caffine will make you fidgety and burn more calories.
3. Sit up straight. You'll burn at least ten percent more calories than reclining.
4. Keep legs/feet moving when sitting.
5. When getting out of chair stand very quickly and surprise the body.
6. When picking something up from the ground, properly squat down quickly and get up quickly. Get the body into high gear.
7. Why do something slowly if you can do it quickly just as good?
8. Stand and burn 10-40% more cals then sitting, and feel more awake.
9. Walk fast wherever you go. Walking fast involves taking a quick step and increasing your steps distance.
10. Don't drag your feet. This is looks lazy and very unattactive.
11. Lift up objects or carry them. Builds more muscles and respect then dragging things does. Make sense?
12. Hold your chest up, back straight, and look up. Be proud. You have good reason!
13. Take stairs instead of elevators or escalators.
14. Where you can jog or run,.. do it.
15. Park a block or two away from work and walk. Better yet walk/bike to work if you can.
16. Take a hot bath/sauna before bed. Its relaxing, will increase circulation/body temp, burn cals and detoxifys the body.
17. Brush your teeth and wash your hands with cold water. Wakes you up.
18. Skipping burns more cals then running. Use it to jump start workouts and warm the body up when needed.
19. Go rollerblading, climb on the monkey bars. Do anything that's fun and active. Be a kid again.
20. Playfight or play tag with your partner. This can also make for intiment time afterwards...
21. Play hacky sac with friends. Its easy to carry around and gets the heart going.
22. Get involved in a sport or join an excercise facility. You'll make friends and lose weight.
23. Dance to your favorite music. Just listening to your favorite song can make you feel jumpy and active!
24. Do excercises like push-ups, chins, weightless squats, crunches when/where no lifting equipment is available.
25. Flex in the mirror. Its fun to look at a good looking person! And burns cals.
26. Sing in the shower.. What? You thought your voice box doesn't take energy to run!
27. Talk to a friend on the phone and plan to do something. Live life!
28. Masturbate.. yes everyone does it. It'll keep your metabolism going and help you get to sleep at night.
29. Do everything with passion. Use quick, accurate, sharp moves as opposed to slow, time consuming, lathergic movements. This will get the heart going and has the potential to make you look like an intelligent, powerful person.
30. When excercising wear less insulating cloths so the cold will chill you into going faster.(use caution...)
31. Wear ankle/wrist weights and/or hold heavy water bottles in each hand when excercising.
32. Keep the mind active if you must sit still. Thinking is good for you!
33. Always keep moving. Tap fingers. Play with something around you. Fidget. Avoid vegetation!
34. Take cold shower or ice-cold bath if you plan to wake up. And you thought just caffeine was good at waking you up!
35. Use bright light bulbs and turn them on at night. This will help keep melatonin from making you tired before bedtime.
36. Wear a walkman when excercising to keep motivated.
37. Keep music on loud in the morning to wake you up and get you pumped for a new day.
38. Use your hands when you talk to stress a message and communicate better.
39. Whatever you do, make sure its fun. That'll keep you motivated and motivation makes excercise so much easier.

Be sure to get a good sleep at night. Sleep is perhaps the one time you can completely let go and relax. Your sleep must be completely uninterrupted by sound, light, touch, stimulants, high/low temperatures etc..

..Also, with a routine like this, it is very easy to overtrain. Be alert to overtraining. Use your instincts. Only you know you best!..
