Looking for a Home Gym/Squat Rack.. so many out there!

I'm looking to get my wife (and me) a squat rack/home gym setup for xmas. I was leaning heavily towards the Spirit B52 but now see there are so many out there and wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions to narrow it down. B52 with weights and some add-ons like bench, leg extensions, etc come it at less than $3000. She loves doing legs and it looks like the B52 can do a lot of the exercises she needs as well as what I need. Anyone out there have any experience with the B52 or any other machines?

Thanks!

@Freakinhobo welcome to EF bro

listen you tell us first what you want to use it for? you have a gym now?

also you cycling? tell us more about yourself bro

We just moved to a rental while we build our new house. We want a full gym in the new house and were going to wait but we want something at the rental now.

Wife loved working out - legs primarily - and it's her ultimate stress relief. She can feel terrible, go knock out a leg workout and feel 100% better. So I want her to have the ability to go into the garage and get that stress relief as often as she wants anytime she wants. She works from home so I think it would be perfect for her.

We had a small gym during covid but nothing like a full rack. Few benches, dip/pullup setup, some free weights, preacher bench, etc. Hard to get your hands on things during covid.

Wife loves squats on the smith machine and from what I've read these are great products, nice commercial style pulley system, etc.. I like them because it allows me to do a lot of upper body stuff as well. We'd still need to supplement it when we build our full gym a year down the road, but I think something like this would be a great start.

I'm retired military and the house we're building is about an hour from any decent gym.. so I don't trust the fact we're going to make the drive. I'd like this rack to be cost effective, but carry us through years of working out.

you need MATS, those are crucial so you don't damage the floors
also you need some cushions to not damage the walls either if a weight drops off

Make sure if you're going to train from home you always keep your phone on you
or some way to call someone in an emergency I once had the bar pin to my chest and it would have been a bad situation had I not been able to get it off of me
