look what Tito did to Shamrocks face!

Man, his face looks like it took one hell of a beating. It hurts just to look at that. I wonder what kind of money those guys get paid to do that....
 
Tito's gonna get what's comming to him soon. Chuck Lidell has a good shot at beating him and so does Vanderlai Silva. Tito needs an attitude adjustment. He has no respect.

he cocky i admit it, but...the Chuck Liddel fight will be good against tito, they are freinds but in the octagon its strictly business,, Tito said on Fox's Best Damn Sports Show Period that he only gets paid afew grand for a fight
 
Sounds like BS, I heard they make 100,000 for title fights. They should make that at least unless Zuma is really screwing them big time. Tito is an idiot, he actually put on his stupid anti-shamrock shirt at the end of that fight but they made him take it off before the camera could see it, then he pretends he respects Ken. What an ass. He wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for Ken. He could at the very least have some respect. I cant wait to see Silva bloody his pretty monkey head.

Yeah the Lidell fight should be great, he is awesome. Very unpredictable. You have to be able to stand up with Tito or he will get on top of you and pound your face in. Frank Shamrock will take him again if he comes back. Count on it. Pride is still 10 times better than UFC. UFC is working on it but the US fans are not really into the skill so much as the blood. I think Silva could stand up with Tito and brig it to him. We'll see I guess.
 
Yeah Shamrock took a serious beating. Tito looked like he went for a light jog, if that. Shamrock is tough as hell. He was in amazing shape. I want my body to look like his -minus the beaten face. ha.

No I didn't see the shirt-only those that were there did. His coach told him to take it off right away. Watch at the end, its a black shirt. The coach wags his finger at Tito as to say "no, no".

Frank Shamrock is still my fav fighter. Nice guy too.

They don't make 100,000 for title fights. Not even close. The most anyone ever made in the UFC was $60,000 for Royce's tournement win in UFC 2.

Tito has already fought and defeated Silva. Granted it was a few years ago and Silva wasn't the monster then that he is now.

The shirt said something to the effect "Oh no, I killed Kenny.....Bastard"
 
Tito would beat Silva decisively, just as he did before. Frank Shamrock wouldn't stand a chance anymore, either. Tito has improved much more than anyone in the world in the past 2-3 years.

Liddell is the man to beat right now, IMO. He would tool Silva just like he tooled belfort (and belfort silva) and I think he has a chance against Tito, unlike any other LHW in the world.

No one is going to take Tito down. Tito always controls the clinch via underhooks and has an excellent bodylock. The main mistake (watch the Babalu/Liddell fight) that chuck's opponents make is trying to shoot a double leg-- Tito will not do this. Liddell's only chance is to knock him out before he takes chuck down and controls him on the ground.

I am looking forward to Tank Abbott's return. He is rumored to be fighting Kimo in his comeback match. He is in good shape at around 260 right now and has reportedly been training hard. Can't wait.
 
I haven't been following the UFC's in awhile but what happened to Frank Shamrock? I haven't heard anything about him since the fight against Zinoviev.

He beat Tito and then basically retired stating there was no one left for him to fight.

He had a K-1 (kickboxing) rules match with a guy who shouldn't have been in the ring with him. I think he ended up breaking the guys arm.

He was schedule to fight Alamedia (I think) in a show, but got injured in training (leg).

He will be fighting at 185 so a rematch with Tito probably wouldn't happen.

Tito's da man but has to beat Lidell to be THE MAN. We shall see. But that's not what this thread is about in the first place.

Frank would be giving up a lot of weight to Tito and Tito is not the same fighter he was when they first fought. He made significant improvements to his game in the last few years. Frank may win, but he most likely wouldn't demolish Tito.

As far as Ken, is the the same Ken that lost to Royce via choke 10 years ago? Ken doesn't now, nor has he ever had the game to hang with today's top MMA fighters.

Frank is tough as nails but will not demolish Tito. Zen hit some quality points. He is a more defined fighter now. It will be a war. Tito trains with bigger and stronger fighters. Does Frank?

NOT TRUE. RANDY COUTURE (SP?) MADE A HUNDRED GRAND FOR A FEW FIGHTS. SO DO OTHER FIGHTERS. TITO GETS PAID GOOD. THE PAY PER VIEWS ARENT SELLING 300K LIKE THEY USED TO BUT THEY ARE STILL SELLING 60-70K.

IN THE EARLIER UFC'S, THE ONLY FIGHTERS THAT WOULD MAKE MONEY ARE THE FIGHTERS WHO WON THE WHOLE THING, AND THE FIGHTER WHO WON THE "SUPERBOUT" (WHICH WAS 50 GRAND IN THE EARLY 90'S) IF THEY HAD ONE.

I don't know the particulars of Couture's contract, and I do know the RAW team held out for quite a bit but I don't think he made 100K per fight. Maybe a two fight contract for 100, but not per fight. For some reason 50-60K per fight for Tito is sticking in my head. Some of the undercard fighters are making like a grand.

The early UFC's you got paid like a grand just to take the beating and you got more money for each fight you won. If you violated the few rules they had (eye gouging, biting, etc) they would fine you a grand. In Andy Anderson's fight with Jon Hess, Hess eye gouged Anderson twice and ended up owing money for fighting in the event.
 
IN THE FIGHT THAT COUTURE HAD JUST BEFORE HE LOST TO JOSH BARNETT, HE SAID HE EARNED 100K. I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH HE GOT FOR THE BARNETT FIGHT SINCE HE LOST IN THE 2ND ROUND THEN GOT THE BELT BACK WHEN BARNETT TESTED POSITIVE FOR EQ AND DECA.

WHICHEVER SHOW IT WAS ON (ONE OF THOSE NATIONAL NEWS SHOWS LIKE 20 20 OR 60 MIN), THE GUY DOING THE STORY SAID THAT COUTURE "ROUTINELY MADE UP TO 100K FOR FIGHTING". NOT SURE WHAT THE SPECIFICS WERE BUT HE DID SAY "PER FIGHT".

WHETHER THAT IS A GUARANTEED CONTRACT OR DEPENDENT IF HE HAS THE BELT OR WINS OR WHATEVER, I HAVE NO CLUE. I DO KNOW THAT THE EARLY UFC'S WERE SELLING 300K PAY PER VIEWS UNTIL JOHN MCCAIN BASICALLY GOT IT BANNED UNTIL IT STARTED IMPLEMENTING RULES (WHEN THE NEW OWNER BOUGHT THE UFC). NOW THEY HAVE A CABLE CONTRACT I BELIEVE.

The Heavyweight title was vacant after Barnett tested positive. Then Ricco won it.

That is possible I guess, like I said, I don't know the particulars of Couture's contract. If he makes that much he definitely is in the minority. They just aren't getting the buy rate to support those kind of salaries.

On the upside (financially) Zuffa has been selling out shows in Vegas and Atlantic City now and making decent money on just the gate. That combined with increasing pay per view numbers should make for more money for the fighters.
 
does anyone know when Vendetta will be released to purchase?..I wanna have it on video so i can watch Shamrock get pounded :D

I don't think they have released a date yet. Zuffa has been good about getting them out quick in the past.

I won't buy anything from them until they start releasing them on DVD though.

I think the Big Show has commented on the UFC basically saying he would get killed.

I think Show and Angle wrestled (non professionally) once, with angle coming out on top.

How do you figure Tyson wins? If he can't stop the Tito's shot it goes to the ground and Tito wins. Right now I would place Tyson's chances of winning a UFC match against Tito at about 10%

Tyson's punches. And also I guess he can take many of Tito's shots. Now one shot by Tyson is not something Tito would like.

BTW I'm not a big fan of the UFC but is there a heavier category above Tito, Frank..... ?

I just don't think Tyson lands a shot. Match starts, anyone with half a brain shoots a double leg on Mike and pulls the fight to the ground. Tyson wouldn't survive flat on his back taking elbows in the gush. Like I said, Tyson has a puncher chance. Now if you take 6 months and teach Tyson how to sprawl, you change the whole dynamic.

Frank fights at 185, Tito fights at Light Heavyweight which is under 205. Then they have heavy, the lightest of which go around 230.

Ricco Rodriguez (sp?) is the current UFC champ I think he goes around 245.

Pride's champ Minitauro Norguira is probably the best heavyweight out there right now. Solid stand up, unbelievable ground game.

Bob Sapp a 370 lb former football player is also making waves over in Pride.

why does everyone keep talking about Tito and the others but not these guys ? I truly thought Tito and Frank were heaviest guys which seemed pretty wweird.

Because pound for pound they are probably better fighters, Tito has dominated the Light Heavyweight Division for a few years. The heavyweight championship has changed hands a few times in the last few years. Not enough depth in the Heavyweights, at least in the UFC.

The biggest successful fighter is Sapp at 350+ (370 I think). The heaviest ever was Yarburough at over 600.
