Brent Mikesell is a stud! 11 plates on each side?? I can't even count that damn high!

PowerMag has an exclusive interview and his squat routine in the December issue. Going to be very interesting.

:vanp:

I know Brent Mikesell has a video coming out around November. I seen the prototype and he has some great squat & deadlift footage. If it is on video I am sure he will have it on his video. I believe he is advertising the video in the December issue of PowerMag.

I didn't know that many plates could fit on a bar. I think I'm going to load one up at the gym to see what it looks like..........uhhhhh maybe not, I'm not sure the power rack could handle it.

I love PowerMag. I can't tell you how excited I get when I see it my mailbox. Like a 10 year old on Christmas morning.

I'm looking forward to the December issue. I'm very curious about the routine.

I was doing a photo shoot with Brent Mikesell yesterday. We loaded a standard bar with as many plates as could get on there and we could only go up to 945 and that was with the last plate half off the bar. A total of 20 plates (he squatted 22 plates). I believe the bar they used in that meet was a special bar with longer arms on the end. Everybody was scared to even walk past the bar with it loaded like that. The bar looked like it was going to bend in half. It was crazy and to think he did about 100 more pounds than that in competition is just sick.

If we wanted to get small collars on the bar we would have only been able to load the bar to 855 pounds. It is hard to fathom the amount of weight he pushed. He is a real down to earth guy too. Full time school teacher. He is planning on going to the Arnold Classic in February.

just curious about 2 things:

(1) were the spotters helping him much in that lift? couldnt quite tell from the picture

(2) doesnt he train for powerlifting? so how could he compete in the arnold? just curious..
