I can not stand people like this, age and experience comes hand in hand but not necesarily good experience and being older doesnt make you wiser, I hate it when people feel they can give life lessons on life, marriage, work, etc just because they are older, this is ridiculous, I have a 50 something co-worker who doesnt know shit about our work or even work ethics and he knows it and stays quiet but there is another same age same character and he wouldnt STFU trying to give everyone lessons on how stuff is done (he got fire by the way) or people that have been married for years giving advice, just because you are married doesnt mean you are happily married or you have the moral authority or the knowledge to think you know better...

I wish people stopped thinking just because they are older they know more and know better, granted some do but I hate it when they think they do just based on age and life experiences and they dont have a clue but feel entitled...

I listen to experience; not age. There's nothing more annoying than listening to a spiel from a 20-year-old real estate agent who shows up in a brand-new BMW (with a 105% loan on it), and listening to him telling me how I should choose a property, and I also laugh to myself when I'm somewhere in baggy clothes, and a NON-fit person half my age or less, tells me what supplements I should buy to "get in shape". If I want to know how to do something on my iPod, I seek a 12-year-old's advice. If I want to know where to put money, I seek the advice of a wealthy person. If I want to know how to square up my pecs, I seek advice from a bodybuilder. Age doesn't matter.

She does differentiate between people who think just because they're older they're wiser versus those of us who know we are.

It's not the age of the know-it-all, or the BMW (paid for or not), it's the attitude of "I know what's best for you, and you don't have a clue", that bugs me. I wouldn't down somebody's qualifications based on age, and in fact I equally dislike know-it-alls who are 58 and driving Plymouths.

I'm 50 (51 on Dec 31st), I have plenty of life experience that I try to give younger people, especially if they're strugeling with something. If your a mature person reguardless of your age, some of the "life lessons" may be obvious, but to most kids (people under 30) they may not BE mature. I've had alot of ups n downs, hard lessons learned unfortunately more than once in many cases, so I feel sorry for kids going through some of the same shit I did. Therefore, I usually try and give my side of the story when I can. Being in the type of business I am, there's plenty of hard times ahead for the kids and families I see....
