i wasnt after pwning anyone. i just know many, many people who have done a lot in their military careers, and i think it only trivializes what they do / have done when someone applies terms like 'SEAL' and 'green beret' to anyone and everyone.

there are many, many people out there claiming to be members of some sort of special operations group, but they are always full of shit.

the ones i know don't even tell people they are in the military, and if they do, they usually tell people they are some paper-pusher or cook. the guy who says they do this and that but 'can't talk about it' because it's 'top-secret' are always, 100% full of shit.

my gf's ex was a fucking mechanic in the marines, and while they were dating, he was telling her all sorts of shit about the ultra top-secret, special operations, ninja commando shit he was supposedly doing.

he told her he was assigned to guard a general's daughter in the philippines, because he was a black-belt in taekwando or some other lame martial art. and then he went on and on about how stressed out he was after he killed a guy or two down there.

i wanted to throw up in my fucking mouth when i heard that. i told her he was full of shit, and this was pretty much when we first met (months before we started dating).

she told him he got all these awards and medals for his service, but he could never wear them, because of the classified nature of his assignment.

i bet the motherfucker went to clothing and sales and bought a bunch of replacement medals and ribbons, so he could show her something.

i told my roommate (a real marine scout-sniper) about this guy, and he just laughed. he said they were all over the place, even on active duty. he wouldnt call her out on her then boyfriend's bullshit, because he didn't want to be mean.

i had no problem being 'mean', though.

he reminds me of this guy i saw on hotornot a few years ago. this guy was probably 21, and he was tab'ed and badge'ed the fuck out. on his shoulder he was tripple stacked (sf, ranger, airborne), and on his chest he had airborne, halo, scuba, air assualt, efmb, and pathfinder.

the motherfucker was even wearing sergeant major rank.

but the best part was, he was wearing a tan beret (he would be wearing a green one if he had his long tab) but it was shaped backwards.

oh god, it was so ridiculous - it was great. seriously.
