I use a belt on heavier squats. Iv'e got a soft belt which is ok - I prefer my old leather "sweat shop" belt, but this is ok. Its definitely about form and the belt shouldn't becoem a crutch. For DLs though I find that a belt isn't as comfortable.

Ok so for DL's I won't use one but for my squats I think I'm going to get one. I use heavy weights as my legs are pretty strong naturally and when I started lifting I noticed that I could pack on the weights and did great. If I didn't I didn't feel it was an effective workout. Do I make sense????
