Leaning out big legs?

Cornholio said:

Yep....periods of tough peddling followed by downhill or flat riding...very intense though...my legs literally felt like balloons when I was finished

I should also add that most of the entirely flat riding was on the highway but with a mountain bike which is about 10x harder than with a touring road bike

Hmmm - I just might have to buy a mountain bike.

Anyway, it looks like you could potentially atrophy your lower body muscle with steady, intense biking. However, if you're just trying to lose the fat off the top of the muscle (like I'm trying to do), you're probably better off sticking with HIIT cardio - either sprints or HIIT on the bike/elliptical, building overall muscle to increase your resting metabolism, and keeping a clean diet.

The question you need to answer is do you really want to atrophy your lower body muscle or do you just want to lose the fat off the top of the muscle?

Totally agree

HAHAH she thinks her lower body is to big...lol

Whats wrong with girls like this?

Honestly I think you need some mental help. Your body is better then 90 % of the girls on the planet....

Thats why you didn't find it when you did a search.

i also wanted to reduce the size of my quads..and a trainer told me to train hamstrings harder/heavier and lighter on quads..would this make sense for gymgirl?

I don't see how that could possibly lead to smaller legs. Actually if you purposefully overtrain one muscle group & under-train the opposing group, you could end up with a muscle imbalance that can lead to joint problems. It might not turn into a problem, but then again it might.

thanks, and i do not have mental issues...lol. In general, I love my body, I just want to better it, don't we all. I guess being Italian plays a lil part w/ the "bigger "legs. My goals are to look a lilttle leaner and more defined by SUMMER time. :dance2:
I think my main prob was my diet, I started eating VERY clean and decreasing my carb intake. Also, I''ve been switching up my cardio, 30 min 5x a week alt on the. bike, eliptical and the stepper. I also have ligtened up on my leg work out, and doing more reps. Lastly, I decided that I do want my upper body more muscular so I am working hard at that. Thanks for all of your help:kiss:
