Ladies - what are you resolutions in terms of...

Gave up on "resolutions" a long time ago. However, I have goals for 2003! :D

Physique-wise? Ah, to come in 5lbs heavier for my next contest (2-lbs away) after that, just about every goal physique-wise would have to do with developing my functional strength, improving boxing skills, and overall conditioning.

Beyond physique, it's some "firsts": to get first in my class in April; compete in my first Powerlifting meet; compete in my first Strongwoman contest; to fight in my first amatuer boxing match.

I'm pur-tee excited about 2003!

Thank you for asking, Cornholio!

Well, since I just got my invite to the 2003 NABBA Worlds and 2003 WFF Universe, both in June, my goal is to put together a physique the judges have to give a decent placing to. Although I thought my last attempt was good enough for a decent placing, damn it!

Of course, for the next couple of months I'll be working my tail off trying to put on as much muscle as possible, so when I start cutting again, I have more muscle to lose. :-) Just kidding. Only on the part about losing muscle.

I don't make resolutions, but I made an exception this year. I resolve to do a real squat! :) Since I'll probably work up my weight within the next couple of weeks to do so, I'm pretty certain that is one resolution I'll actually achieve.

I'd like 2003 to go out with a 550 pound deadlift...and if that sucker goes up, I won't care what the hell I look like doing it. :)

If you do that...Cheese just might quit lifting completely...

Given that I finally hired someone to take on 1/3 of the 3 jobs that I am performing right now, I'll be very happy if I can get in the gym on a regular basis. It would also be nice to remember to eat occassionally. I've maintained a nice lump of muscle that I started building like almost a year ago, so I think I'm just gonna work on getting a nice balance in my life and maybe dump some of the mass. Since I bought those damn fuck me heels for the figure show I was gonna do, who knows, maybe I'll go that route towards the end of the year if I can start to lean out.

What about u Corn?

I will be conducting a long-term experiment in "How far can spatts slowly drop her bodyfat while maintaining strength."

That's my resolution too. At this point I'm pretty satisfied with my strength and the amount of muscle I carry, I'd just like less bodyfat so that I can SEE the muscles better.

I also tend towards extremes - excessive calorie restriction, or excessive excercise, or both simultaneously - and my other resolution is to listen to my body when it says I need a break from those, before I'm forced to take a break by injury or sickness.

On that same note, my little sister recently graduated from UCBerkeley (in 3 1/2 years, no less!), and my mother and I drove up north to help her move back home. Sis had several heavy pieces of furniture, such as a large bookcase, a futon with an incredibly heavy mattress, and a solid oak desk, that she and my osteoporotic mother couldn't have possibly moved by themselves. For the first time in I don't know how long, I was grateful that I was not only strong enough to help my family with an important task, but I was injury-free and physically able to do it. It was a moment of clarity that reminded me I excercise for more than just cosmetic reasons. Nice feeling. ;)

I'm around 229 right now - fairly solid, after my play in Feb. I would like to hit 240ish and cut down to a tight 220
