Ladies that have done Var...

Dana since you're Plat you need to use that search function for your question. This question has been asked and answered exhaustively in probably dozens of threads. Before they limited the search ability for non paying peeps I used to use it extensively. Search on "var" and narrow the search field to Women's forum only. There was a day when we place was jammed with ladies and there's way more old info than you'll get from currently active people.

I did a search but the problem is a lot of the people are not longer active so it is hard to ask follow up questions. Daisy did it affect your period at all? What kind of birth control are you on and would you recomend going off birth control for a cycle?

And also true about follow up questions. :)

Yes, it affected my period. When on Var, I do not get a period. I might get a bit of spotting, but that is it.

I take a BCP - Loestrin Fe 1/20. It is a low-dose mono-phasic pill. This means it has a constant low dose of hormones throughout the month. I continue to take the BCP as scheduled while on AAS, never had ANY problems.

People say that it doesn't make sense to take the BCP with AAS. In a perfect world, it is contradictory. But IMO, it made little to no difference in my results. If you are a high level compeitor, then SURE, it makes sense to go off BCP while taking AAS. But for me (the average female) my DIET is going to make more of an impact on my results than my BCP.

I have taken t-3. I done very well with it. It was great for fat loss. I am getting ready to start a var and gh cycle in April. If anyone has any info on how var worked for them I'm interested. Also gh.

I got my var cycle starts on Monday. How low can I cut my cals? Presently at 160 18% bf or so. I was thinking of going as low as 1200 to low? Normally eat around 1600-1800.

I would cut them SLOWLY. If you do a drastic 500 cal cut...when you plateau out, where will you drop them? 800?

First make sure ALL your cals are coming from CLEAN sources. If you aren't 100% CLEAN, then do that FIRST.

Next, cut down 100-150 cals. This usually is a starchy carb. Small reduction - say 1 cup oatmeal down to 3/4c or 1/2c.

When you plateau, cut another 100-150 cals. Again, starchy carb. Cut a potato in half, reduce amount of rice, etc.

Repeat if necessary.

I think you'll find, with a CLEAN diet and SMART training ..... PLUS Var ... you won't need to reduce total cals too much.

Daisy my plan is to have very minimal amounts of carbs in my diet I can't seem to drop serious pounds onless I drasticly cut my carbs.
This is about what I am thinking for my diet.

6 a.m
1 c. cooked eggs whites
few almonds

8 a.m (post cardio)
prortien shake

10 a.m
1/2 of a protien bar

12 p.m.
chicken breast or lean steak
2 cups green beans or a salad

2 p.m
chicken breast or lean steak
1 cups green beans or a salad

4 p.m
1/2 of a protien bar

7 p.m (post lifting)
protien shake

9 p.m
1 c. cooked eggs whites
few almonds

Cheat day once a month or once ever two weeks what do you think? My cycle is 12 weeks.

Eating every 2 hours is good, but hard to keep up....can you do it? Is that normally how often you eat? I just find that every 3-4 is better for me, easier to schedule. I end up with only 5 meals but the same amount of food.

If anything, I would change meals to every 3 hours, cutting out the 2 meals of protein bars. You could add a little something to the protein shake meal in the morning....maybe a piece of fruit like an apple, cottage cheese or a little veggie.

Cheat meals are good, especially if psychologically you need it. They help "reset" your metabolism as well as mentally help you stick to your diet. BUT, they can be taken overboard also (I tend to go overboard EASILY). I would limit Cheat DAYS. Maybe do 1 Cheat MEAL a week. Make it a morning meal or pre-workout meal. Like a Sunday Brunch with friends or something...something enjoyable and "normal". :) Or a nice weekend lunch with friends/family before you hit the gym later that afternoon.

Maybe once a month (which will be a total of only 3 times during your cycle) do an all out cheat DAY. Will help you metabolism as well as remind you why you eat clean! :)

Yeah I am leaning to once a month for a cheat day. I am going to try to eat that often but if I can't will probably cut them back and do as you suggested. I am so excited for Monday to come I am counting down!
