any one see this? im just reading in flex that he withdrew in the first round!....they have a pic of him and man his belly is huge!!!! he looks fucked up man...anyone see it? or know where u can get pics of that?
 
I saw him in person a couple of months ago and the dude is enormous. Big head and all. His arms are literally a few inches smaller than my waist.
 
He had a seriously distended belly and his synthol use was very obvious. I heard he was roundly booed by the crowd. I don't know how he went that wrong. I'm wondering how MMI and MuscleTech are going to spin this. I'm wondering if his career will survive it as well. Anyone know how he blew it that bad?
 
I've heard that he had done his dieting right but his body was not responding anymore. Apparently he was crying backstage: when your body stops responding to diet, (Don long...), you know you're fucked.

from what im reading online, 15 min. into prejudgeing he walked off stage and never came back....as soon as he hit the stage everyone started to boo and was a ahh in how bad of shape he was...they say his belly was hanging and he couldnt suck it in....i think musctech made him do the contest or no more contract.... im not to sure on this , just what i read on differnt sites.....

kovacs is a wanna be bodybuilder running around with this dream he is in the league of some of the guys who compete in the IFBB. i saw that pic and thought, what a fat fucker!!!! friends of mine who saw the show said EVERYONE ,THATS EVERYONE , booooed is fat ugly wanna be ass off the stage like he stole something from joe weider. I THINK RONNIE AND FLEX SHOULD GET TOGETHER, THROW A WIG ON KOVACS AND MAKE HIM THIER BITCH!!!!

I went to the contest. He did not get one call out, and you could tell he was getting upset.

His trunk is too long and his lats are high. When relaxed his symetry is way off. He is too tall. I compare it to Shaq. He looks huge next to skinny players.

By the way Pavel should have won that contest. Burke was huge but not asthetic at all.
 
Sorry if I offend anyone... but I think that looks just plain stupid.

Thick, well developed muscle looks great... but that guy just looks like a giant balloon floating over a Macey's day parade or something.

Arnold looked great. Today's guys... I don't know... I just think it's ugly.

Greg Kovacs, was without question the most awful sight on the stage. From the moment he walked on-stage, groans and screams of disgust were heard from the crowd. Greg's distended belly overhung his waist by almost a foot. And he could not even suck it in at all. It was quite atrocious. He was not even in contest condition. One can only assume that Muscletech gave him a "Do the NOC or lose the contract" ultimatum, for why else would Greg embarrass himself in this manner? Fifteen minutes into the pre-judging, Greg walked off the stage and never returned.
 
He had to know he wasn't in shape, so it begs the question, why the hell did he go out there? It's hard to believe that MuscleTech would have wanted their spokesman on stage in that condition. I would have to think they would have made him pull out with an "injury" or something before having him seen like that. But if his sponsors didn't make him do it, then why would Kovacs subject himself to that humiliation? Man, it's shit like this that gives the sport a black eye!
 
He does look like bad with his gh gut but he is as ripped as his body is going to get....Years of gh and and roid abuse for sure , I would take a bet though that alot of us on the board wishes are body was as big as his!!
Obviously without the gut,,,,
I also laugh when I read responses about how bad he is and how he should not be up there, I would love to see what those people look like,,,I bet they are skinny little punks who look like shit and have to bad mouth others who paid there dues and did somthing right to get on the stage with the best of the best..Just my opinion!!!!
 
Hey BigBalls, they're saying he didn't belong up there because that's the truth. I'm not about bashing anybody, but Christ bro, you think a guy who is in such bad shape that he's booed off the planet wasn't a little out of place on a bodybuilding stage? Especially an IFBB pro bodybuilding stage? I think the fact that Kovacs quit and left proves that even HE knew he didn't belong up there. Kovacs has to do better then that. There are guys on this board that work 50-60 hours a week at a real job that can do a hell of a lot better than that. When you're only job is to eat, sleep, shit, and train, you should look better when you step on stage. Especially when you only step on stage about once every 5 years!
 
Definitely a sad pic. I can't imagine what he must have felt like on stage. Do you guys thing he'll compete again?

I was looking at his pic again and started wondering what the hell that hole looking thing is on the side of his stomach? Is it just the coloring of the photo I'm seeing or is some shit not right?
 
Yeah, why doesn't that dumbshit just be a powerlifter if he's as strong as Musclemag
says? Robert Kennedy said he was sighted pressing something like 700+pounds for
reps. I don't think Anthony Clark does that much for reps so I would have to see
that.

Have you forgotten that the whole idea of the sport is to get on stage almost naked and have your entire body critiqued and compared to others?

I'm a 'skinny little punk' at 5'8" and 175lbs at 10-12% bf, but I do quite well with the ladies :fro: so I'll take my time and be careful never to look like a big ugly tub of shit :sick:

The difference is that I know better than to get my ass up on stage against guys that are in 10 times better condition.
 
He is still twice as huge as anyone on this board. His stomach was extended out but it was still all muscle but not defined. I wouldnt hate on him because his body is phenomenal compared to a regular weightlifter,,,,dont hate, but why the fuck would he go out on stage like that...but compared to most on this board he looked great compared to most.
 
I'm on my way to the local GNC, I need that cell-tech...come on now...who wouldn't want to look this good?

You know, I think Kovacs was using the new product we don't know about Growth-Hormone-Tech...

I do not want to argue about this post but if some of the people on this board ran in the circle with a few pros they would have a little more respect for Kovacks because they would know the dedication and efforts it took to get where he is....Yes I agree in that picture where he was letting his breath out and not holding it hard Yah he looked bad but I am sure as shit that some of you do not have a clue to why he was up on that stage, do you realy think he wanted to be there that day>?? For those of you who call him fat and tub a shit and stuff like that what bf% do you think he was at??
Get a clue and put in your dues before you judge people...later little people,,,

Well, by getting up there and making a complete and total ass out of himself he kept his contract with Muscletech which means he'll still be able to afford more GH--guess he likes the gut and now he can keep working on it. :bawling: :confused: :bawling:

Go ahead and judge away, but it usualy is the skinny, no muscle to speak of type that is the first one to put someone else down who is big!! Look at all the kovaks bashing going on, how many do you think is big or have ever competed?? NONE I am sure!!

ILuvBlackGirls, I don't mean any disrespect, but I don't think this board is for super hardcore/kamikaze only. At 5'10", I weight about 180/12% BF and my goal is to reach 200 ripped, no more. People have been very nice to me and helped alot. Nobody ever told me that I was a wuss and that I didn't belong here because I choose not to inject. IMHO, this board is for people who 1- lift weights for strength and self improvement; 2- want to know more about using AS, or want to share their knowledge and experiences about AS; 3- need advices and support; 4- just have plain fun among other people who share the same passion/obsession.

I really like the physiques of bodybuilders like Priest, Coleman, Wheeler, Sarcev and many more... but if being big at all cost leads me looking as non-symmetric as that picture of Kovacs or Markus Ruhl, I'd rather be small.

I have no idea why anyone would defend the look that Kovacs brought on stage. I like the mass monsters myself, but come on! As a fan, a person has the right to expect more from the athletes. You buy the tickets, support the sponsors by purchasing their products, etc., and you're not supposed to utter a word of complaint if you have a guy like Kovacs up there out of shape? You're not suppose to have a problem with going to a professional show and not seeing a professional performance because you're just a fan, not a competitive bodybuilder and you haven't "paid your dues"? What kind of convuluted logic is that? So, I guess if Derek Jeter decides not to field any balls hit in his direction, the fans at Yankee stadium should just shut up, because Jeter has paid his dues? Yeah, sure. The fans pay the bills. I'll say it again. All he has to do is eat, sleep, shit, and train. People have the right to expect him to look like a pro when he steps on stage every 5 years.
 
Hate to beat a dead horse but.... Man, he wasn't just bloated or holding water or
relaxed up there, he got booed the fuck off the stage! People are pissed because
MuscleMag and MuscleTech have been hyping this guy as superman for years and then
he shows up with a physique so bad it turned everybody's stomachs. You can't step on
a stage with a 40+ inch (that's being nice) waist and compete. End of story. And look
closely at those MuscleTech pictures in the ads. He's got all types of weird shit going on,
mishapen nipples, discusting stretch marks, deformed jaw, shitty proportions, and of
course the most horrendously distended abdomen among all well known bodybuilders.
 
Its foul no matter how you slice it. I remember when Paul Dillet had to be carried off the stage because of cramps from diretics. He still had a bulging belly.

What ever happened to that Fuqes guy? Bigger isn't better at the sacrifice of condition.

I admire Dorian Yates, however I didn't think it was fair that he still continued to win even though he suffered all those injuries. One of his bicipes was almost nonexistant!

I agree with what Kevin Levrone said in Flex, they should let the public decied who will be in the final three.

makes you wonder if MuscleMag is really reviewing their STAR before he hits the stage. If I were Rob, I would have the Muscle Tec wizards working him overtime. That or drop him from the stupid articals they claim built that belly.
 
Boy, this topic has been beat to death! IT's funny how we're all split down the middle. Some feel sorry for him, some trash him. I personally feel sorry for him and I'm trying to find some respect in there too. He had to know, and was forced to do that. I think he was just trying to keep his job. In my opinion, he's strong, he's huge, but he's got no business competing in the ranks he's in. He should stick to hanging out at the MuscleTech Booth. Dan Duchane said something like, "It didn't take long to realize that I was a shitty bodybuilder, so I had to find something else to do." His contribution was enormous and never humiliated himself by trying to be something that he was not. Kovacs needs to follow suit, although peddling Muscle Tech crap isn't much of an impact on bodybuilding.
