hey all, my man had knee replacement surgery last friday and has been home sence monday morning. He is a very active guy and in great shape. As it stands now (no pun intended) he has litle or no strenth in the operated thigh. Any ideas on how long it will take to start regaining strenth? the pt said "eventualy" what the hell does that mean?!?! any personal experience with this type of surgery anybody? :worried:

He will storm back after 2 weeks of intense pain from healing the stitched up tissues.

Leg extensions are first ... then presses. No squats.

Remember ... the joint is 100% fixed! Rehab is letting the tissues heal and then regaining strength.

6 weeks for real mobility.

He will be better than new in less than 2 months.

It depends on several factors.
1)What type of knee replacement did he have? Complete, partial?
2)What type of an approach was used by the surgeon. MIS or standard. Cruciate retaining?
3)Any health problems? Smoker, diabetic, et.
