Knee issues!

I have been having knee issues since I started doing hiit and using the treadmill so often. Both knees pops all the time and the right one feels like it's popping out of something.
I want to keep doing cardio because I need to cut belly fat, bigtime, but It seems like it's getting worse.
Last night while I was doing my lunges, it was very uncomfortable. :worried:
Is there something I can do to get rid of this stubborn belly fat that doesn't involve cardio??

try using the elliptical, it's easier on your knees and shins. And of course losing that stubborn fat has more to do with the diet than cardio....so TIGHTEN IT UP!!!! :velvett:

I just work out at home girl. No elliptical here! :worried:I guess I am gonna try just a brisk walking pace on a bit of an incline and see how that does me and cut the hiit and see if I get better after a wk or so. I think it could be the jogging.

Where is the pain & what does it feel like?? Is it behind the kneecap??

Women have a tendency toward patella-femoral knee issues. There is a velcro strap you can wear around your knee that will help with this -- you can find it at places like Sports Authority. Not too expensive. You may be doing too much, too soon if you're not used to it.... Glucosamine/chondroiten will help also...

Yes it seems to be. I did get a strap but it doesn't help.
I put it tightly around my knee just below my knee cap. I never had a problem with my knees until now! :(

Well, I noticed that as I lost weight -- I got knee pain....

Go figure....

The strap is supposed to help your kneecap "track" better.... Try to start taking Gluc/Chondroiten -- it takes a while to take effect, but it has helped me...

You also might be going at it too hard, too soon.....slow down on the Cardio, reduce the incline a bit & let your body catch up...

You may need new sneakers. Old footgear or the wrong footgear can play a role in knee injuries especially if you are running.

Diet gets rid of fat. If you don't eat it, you don't have to worry about burning it off.

Does that mean I have to stop eating the fatfree cool whip and sugarfree/fatfree pudding my father bought with my cottage cheese? :(

Only if it makes your knees hurt...... actually the gelatin in the Jello is good for you...

Ice before and after helps a lot too. I use the patella strap when doing lunges and other weight bearing movements. I have cut the running in exchange for the elliptical. Try running on a slight incline too. Maybe stay away from open-chained exercises like leg extensions for a bit and stay w/ the closed chained exercises. Just my .02.
