The legislation (S.2195) is expected to go to the floor for a vote tonight. If approved by unanimous consent, the bill would be sent to the House for their approval. The effective date would begin to run from the date the President signs the bill into law. For those of you who are especially interested in an exact date, the best I can give is an estimate. If there is no objection to the legislation by Thursday, and the bill makes it to the President's desk, it would be reasonable to say that the bill could be expected to take effect on or around January 10th - 15th. We should know by tonight whether the bill will receive unanimous consent on the floor of the Senate.

Don't they have bigger fish to fry? This is fucking moronic! We have a war going on and "big brother" feels the need to ban a perfectly safe category of nutritional supplements? I don't get it! I read an interview with Patrick Arnold of ergopharm last week and he was saying how ridiculous this whole mess is. Whats next? FDA regulation of vitamin C? This is what happens when the govt gets too much power.

who cares....don't like prohormones anyway...besides hasn't crack and MJ been outlawed for quite sometime now, yet there are more drugged out people than every before.... :chomp:

The politicians are weak girly men jealous of our manly muscles so they must outlaw anything that makes them look more like weak girly men and our muscles far more superiour than theirs! (in the voice of Hans & Frans).

No, this is what happends because the DRUG COMPANIES want it to happen. That's why ephedra was banned.

I could care less about prohormones... they wind up in underage kids hands for the most party anyway. I will stick to the real thing which costs 1/100th the price per dose!

I'm glad im not the only one that realizes that the FDA is basically controlled by the pharma industry. In this case though i don't think that they really are pushing for it. They realize as well as we do that prohormones are not taking away from their bottom line. Do you really think that organon and upjohn are concerned about small companies like Pinnacle and Ergopharm? Not likely.

I'm not saying that prohormones are a big deal, we all know that they don't stack up against the real stuff, but my point is that the option to use them is being taken away. If you like them or not has no relevance.

The rich control everything, the corporations control the media, the government, the FDA! Hell, everyone knows that!

y'know what?

Ban that shit!
the real thing will always be there...

Well look at the bright side, there will be more newbies saving money and less companies scamming people by pushing prohormones. I think the prohormone industry has gotten rediculous anyway.....they're making so much money pushing shitty products!

The bill is very empowering to the government.
It allows them to ban any precursor to sex hormones. Precurosor to precurosrs, and precursor to precursors to precursors. Etc.

Actually technically they could ban eggs with this ban, being that cholesterol is the original precursos to testosterone.

No joke.

Im sure they wont, but they could.

This board is so anti-prohormones that I am surprised by how many people care about them possibly being banned........................unless it's just about the government trying to tell them what to do or not do, then I see the point. But as far as prohormones are concerned, these companies don't give a fucking shit about my health. Take methyl-1testosterone for example...I tried it a while back and you know what? I actually got some decent results! Fair enough. What the company that made that supplement failed to do however, was warn me about the possible side effects that could arise from taking the supp, or how liver toxic it actually was. All they tell you is don't take more than two capsules a day....that's it. They don't tell you why you shouldn't take more than two a day. They also say that it's perfectly safe to take. Bullshit! It is not, we all know that. They also don't mention that you should do some kind of PCT afterwards. They also don't tell you that it shuts you down, which it does. They don't warn you to not drink alcohol while on it, which you shouldn't because of it's hepatoxicity. That is what the Gov't is after. These companies don't give a flying fuck about my health or your health. It's just all about the $$$. That is why they are being regulated. Plus, most of the shit out there is fucking bunk anyways, so were not the ones losing out, they are (the companies). I think it serves them right for being the decieving sons of bitches that they are. As far as the gov't telling me what I can't do to my body or what to buy...I don't like it one bit. However, I'm not loosing sleep because pro-hormones may be going off the shelves. I will stick with the real shit anyways. Just my two cents.

Yeah PH's suck, but who is Uncle Sam to make that decision for us by banning them? And when the steroid buying/selling/smuggling increases again, they'll have themselves to blame.

Very well said. It's a shame the gov't had to get involved but it truly was necessary. If I had kids I wouldn't want them to get exposed to that crap. Don't they sell this crap at GNC in the US?

P/H are considered steroids here in Canada and rightfully so.

PH are over priced anyways, well when compared to the real thing :)

I think we should have the right to buy and use what we want. I just think this is another form of control by the government. Ya, some positive things like kids not being able to get the stuff will happen, but in the end it's just another form of control. I agree that PH's aren't nothing special really. I just finshed a 3 1/2 week cycle of 1-AD at 700 mgs ED and to be quite honest, I'm not that impressed. I felt I recovered a little faster and maybe am putting on weight a little faster than normal, but then again, I am a month into training from a 9 month layoff so I would have gained weight and strength anyhow. Overall, I'll call 1 cycle of the PH's good and go for the real deal down the road.

the real problem with PH is that they are not thoroughly researched and many of them are unsafe. The newer ones are much stronger than the older andro's. However the sides are often considerably worse than from the harshest pharmaceutically developed gear. Most of these compounds are the "rejects" from earlier pharmaceutical development. Rejected, most likely for safety issues-- particularly since most of them are in essense 17aa steroids.

IMHO banning is not preferred, however since there is no safety testing or responsibility on the part of the sellers- it has become the option least distasteful from a safety for the consumer (who are generally young and uninformed) standpoint.

self regulation and restraint would be nice but they are non-existant with respect to these compounds.

Honestly, some of the pro-hormones are much more dangerous than AAS.....at least WE do the research before gearing up.....most kids, walk into gnc, but the shit they say in Musclemag, exceed the does, and their boyz become shriveled children.....

The Fucking Government bands anything that gives us freedom to choose.
This is all because of the stupid war on drugs. Just remember they say they are doing it for the CHLDREN PROTECTION. They don't give shit about our kids if they did there would be mandated jail time of 5 years if caught dealing to kids. The war on drugs makes to much money for local police depts threw fines and property seizures.
This is Why you go out and VOTE LIBERTARIAN !!!!!!!!!!

And with 17aa they should have inform the customers that they may very well need to take other precautions such as detox, enti-e (but how the fuck would they aquire it if it's only available with a script). I took PH for 6 months with hardly any noticeable gains at all and on a high protein diet. I developed gyno from PH, which I didn't have before taking PH, and before I ever touched gear.
