Lately I have seen a lot of posts about diet...what ratios to use? How many calories to consume a day? How many grams of what? I think we make it so much more difficult than it is...don't get me wrong dieting is tough and it takes time to find what works for you...but it can be done. One thing everyone needs to make sure they understand these diets people post or ratios others use may NOT work for you.

You are different..it depends on your activity level during the day, your metabolism...etc...what works for me, may not be even close to what works for you. I never really sit down and write down ratios, calories or grams..I summarize..I like to take in 1-1.5 grams of protein per lb..I rotate my carbs high and low...Some days I may take in more calories than others..but taking in some chicken and green beans..will NOT make you fat or hinder any fat loss.

Write down everything you eat for like a week, then go through and see where you can make changes here and there to help. Keep doing this and watch your body and how you react. Stick to something for at least 4-6 weeks and get a body comp done..dont weigh yourself all the time..that means nothing..I would get your body fat done and measurements taken. You are going to be able to tell by your clothes and how they fit and of course the good ol mirror check.

Sometimes I see posts with all kinds of crap in the diet and you wonder why you are not getting lean?? It depends on your goal, then go from there as far as designing your diet. But eating yogurt, bagels, turkey sandwiches, pasta, cereal, and junk will not get you shredded. Use common sense. Now eating something every once in a while..i think is good...after 3-4 weeks of dieting I may eat pizza or something I want, and personally I think it helps shock my body and gets me going. Doing that every once in a while will not kill you nor will you get fat, you dont get fat over night folks. Now if that day turns into dayS, WEEKS< MONTHS, YEARS..yes indeed you WILL GET FAT!! Enjoy life, live a little. I hate dieting, but the more I do it and find foods I can make differently or eat shit every so often, I tend to do better and keep my focus. You become not so anal about everything and realize that it wont kill your progress etc.

Most of this dieting stuff is MENTAL! It is not easy to eat 6 x a day and be consistent and not get lazy and just eat whatever. But it is a lifestlye you have chosen and it is a healthy one. You are not the Norm..but you will be happier and feel better than if you were to be any other way. It takes planning, organizing and consistency...it gets easier and it becomes just part of your life. Don't expect over night results..Don't copy spatts diet, or Warlobos diet...they have different bodies and lifestylse than you...get ideas from these posted diets and go from there. You need to individualize it to your needs. Fine tune it as you go..and remember train hard....drink plenty of water!!!!!! and maybe add a little cardio to the mix..it won't kill ya...but keep your focus on diet and weight training..that is where it is all at:) Plus you dont want to eat lobos diet..unless you are planning to gain about 30lbs and sit on your ass all day.......
