KB's diet log - the fatness must be PWNED

Figure I will start a diet log, since my training logs have always helped. Brief situation:

Weight: around 178-180 (will weigh myself tomorrow)
BF: No idea. Estimate around 15-16%
Story: Have had an extruding disc (L5) for about 3 months now. I have turned into a fat shit cause I haven't been training and have been VERY WEAK with eating and sticking to my lifestyle. I have tried dozens of times to get back into it but I keep finding excuses. It's time to nut up and get it done. I am still in the rehabbing stage. Lots of stretching and minimal training (some upper body, limited lower body - all light weight). The good news is that physical aerobic activity makes my back feel great, so I have been doing a lot of cardio in the gym and outside of the gym (basketball, tennis, whatever). I can't run yet and moving on concrete is still a little problem (I shot hoops today for about 20 minutes and had to call it quits). Biking also feels good. I am in the busiest time of the year at work and will basically be on site at the US Open running around like a nut for 4 weeks end of Aug and into Sept. Still, I can't use that as an excuse to eat like shit.

Plan: As much activity as I can get in (biking, tennis, basketball, light jogging, eliptical, seated bike in the gym) to keep the back nice and loose. I will be training 3 days a week. Diet is below:

1 sc protein
1/3 cup Dextrose
1 chix br
1/2 cup rice
2 eggs
1 slice ch
1 sc protein
1.5 sc protein
1 tbs flax
1 chix br
6 flax pills
1.5 sc protein
1 tbs flax

The numbers and the convenience (very key for me) should work. I welcome any suggestions, but I do not plan on changing this plan much. I have learned enough to know that everyone has opinions and ideas and thoughts and I listen to them all, digest, and use what I know my body will react to.

The point of this log is for motivation, cause I have been straight up embarrased with myself lately. I have been weak and have made every excuse in the book (I am injured, work is crazy, stress, whatever). No more. Feel free to berate me if and when I slip.

Yeah where does your workout fall in with that? I know its only 3 days a week working out. Im guessing its early on where your carbs are... Youre getting a lot of protein powder too. Anything else you can eat? Turkey? Tuna? I see you have chicken already. Veggies are key to lose weight too I think.

Are you taking a multi? You might be missing on minerals and vitamins when you follow through the diet. Also you should supplement with some extra zinc on the side, the cheapest brands will do and maybe sub the flax for fish oil.

M W F early morn. mostly core stuff with a little upper body and a tiny bit of lower body. the protein powder is for convenience. as I said, I am out of control with work right now and will be at an event for the better part of a month. veggies - this is key and something I am always missing. my total cals are about where I want them to be, so not sure where I could fit them in, but definitely need to.

taking a multi vit, ALA, Ener G

I actually take a zinc pill already. the flax is actually substituted with fish with the pills. just didn't right it. I am kind of jaded right now with the insane detail I have gone into with training and eating the last year or so. trying to just relax a bit and just get it done - not worry about eating a tblsp and a half of ANPB instead of just a tbsp

Broccoli is a good veggie that will add almost no calories or carbs to your diet. Green beans is another good one.

I was thinking of this today, gonna toss in some greens with one of my chicken meals. It's needed. appreciate it everyone.

It's kind of nasty if you get the drinkable kind, but try to throw a fiber supplement in there as well. It will help clean out the crap you've been putting in your body, help you lose weight that isn't fat, (crazy how much gunk your intestines hold), and will help with protein and mineral absorption. Shitloads of water too, it actually burns calories, especially if you drink it very cold.

I drink probably 2 gallons a day - a lot for a kid my size. Fiber - I have thought about that in the past. It can't taste much worse than energ

It takes about a week to have the unsettling growling, not farting with confidence, and toxic cubicle to go away, but you'll see and feel the difference.

no cheating at all? how many cals in this daily thing of yours?

I got it all at home, don't even know off the top of my head. Nope - no cheating.

Day 3 - almost perfect (had a macaroon at work. :rainbow:

post it!!!

hope you are not sweating over 1 (one) single macaron (unless it was a godzilla sized one)

Good job bro. Don't do what I always seem to. If I mess up a little I say fuck it and eat a mayo fried rack of ribs with egg yolk sauce.

that has been my problem for a bit now.

"hmm, I just ate half a bagel, so I might as well make this a cheat day and order a pizza and then eat a pound of ice cream". what a broad.

nope, not no mo.

I ate a cannoli today. Fucking delicious retarded slip up.

Man, it's been a while. I am, of course, partial to bakeries at home so I haven't had one out here.

You fuck, take that word out of my diet thread!

Day 4 (yesterday): pretty good. just one of those disgustingly insane days at work. had half a bagel and a few bites of a goddamn good coffee roll and didn't get in all my shakes. haven't been sleeping very well this week, but got some needed sleep lastnight. I might actually sleep in for the first time in a looong time one day this weekend. probably not. :)

good stuff maing - human will can be a very strong thing. good luck bro.

Day 5 (yesterday):

a little off. had a small piece of birthday cake with my good friend who turned 30. I wasn't about to not break bread with him. no big deal, I think I was still alright in the calorie world. headed to the gym now to hit the seated bike. I recently started trying to play a little tennis and basketball (not even play, just hit or shoot around), but unfortunately I don't think I am ready to move around like that on hard ground yet. eliptical, seated bike, my mountain bike are all fine with my back right now so I'll stick to those.

Nice work man. Keep it up.

thanks brother. I am in a weird place with this injury and the diet. when all is said and done, I will almost be starting from square one cause of the injury. but I don't mind. right now I am really getting into things like running and biking and finding it as another way to test my mental strength as wel las physical.

I will probably have a "cheat" meal tonight or tomorrow. thinking either sushi or steak with sweet potato fries

I haven't lifted in over 5 months. I hurt my shoulder and really need to get it looked at. Been mountain biking like crazy though. I kind of cheated and went up to Deer Valley on Tuesday to take the lift up and just bomb downhill. If you have a place near you that does that and a full suspension bike I highly recommend it. Decent workout too even though the lift does the hard work for you. I ate shit going close to 30 though, so take care of your back piece.

damn, what happened to the shoulder?

I have a mntn bike and have really just been riding on the road. a few miles here and there, 8-10 on the weekend. there is a huge trail near me that I want to hit up but I want to wait cause the back doesn't agree with bouncing up and down right now. I really want a road bike too

I was hanging a picture, stepped back to see if the thing was level, and tripped over my dog when I was walking backwards. I put my right arm back to break the fall and something just got fucked. It felt like everything from my delt to my shoulder blade and up my neck filled with air and I couldn't move it. Iced it for a few days and went back to lifting. Everything was good until I threw a snowball and it got refucked. I must have torn something. Been putting the doc off, but my feet are being eclipsed my my fuggin gut and moobs. Not good.

jnev - that blows! damn, hanging a pic.

Days 6 and7 were not very good. 6 wasn't bad, but decided to eat a few pot brownies (what the fuck, am I in highschool?!). This made Day 7 complete hangover, miserable hell in which I ate like shit. Back on track today.

yea Im doing a cycle to take care of all those probs, but I prefer the quick route oh well

lol @ austin

Day 10: a little off. once again, an insane work day with a ton of back-to-back meetings and whatnot. veered off my plan. but still feel like I kept the cals to where I wanted them. skipped the chicken meals and had a chix salad sandwich and a banana at some point, resisted the free cake. my office has more free food than any place on earth. it's insane.

Keep going bro, sounds like u got it all sorted there.Any pics ?

I gave up on pics a little while ago. Decided they weren't the best way for me personally to measure myself. I like the mirror method better. Adn bf testing, which I have to get done at some point soon. thanks man.

Thats fair enough buddy,Ive only taken a few just wanna make sure ive improved.I too need my BF% tested, witing for my wife to bring the gear home from the gym.Ill let u know when its done so we can compare :D.Good luck m8

Day 11: no good

Went to happy hour with about 15 people from work to say goodbye to 4 people that all left around the same time. Ended up being a blast, so I had some drinks and not good food. Good time though, which is more important than calories (I am learning this slowly). Back on track today nigga.
