Beyonce, nominated for best female video for "Single Ladies," was bested by country and pop sensation Taylor Swift. The 19-year-old was giddy when she won, saying: "I always wondered what it would be like to maybe win one of these someday, but never actually thought it would happen."

But West ruined her moment when he jumped on stage, and protested.

"Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time," he said, as a shocked Beyonce looked on and the crowd began to boo West.

A crestfallen Swift didn't finish her speech, but the crowd tried to cheer her own and applauded her.

i dunno i think he could get on the stage pretty quick it looked as if he was right next to it in the video...I doubt cops would tackled kayne west on tv since hes a celebrity and not some random guy especially if the cops were white...could you see the headlines if white cops tackle kayne west on stage??

Do you know how much security is at these places? Can you imagine one guy jumping up on stage blowing himslef up and taking out 200 celebrities on LIVE television! Can you imagine what would happen? You don't think they've thought of everything - backup dancer, guy dressing up as celeb, someone stealing security shirt, hot female, guy wearing headset and walkie-talkie, etc. You don't think they've gone through every scenario?

Before you head to the stage, you go through TWO layers of security. And you have to be ESCORTED by the production manager. If not - they stop you. Around the stage is security and cops ready to tackle anyone jumping up. ANYONE. ZERO TOLERANCE.

And did you notice how the cameras were COINCIDENTALLY aligned perfectly on kanye's head and beyonce's face as soon as he got on? Did it not occur to you that if it was real, the master control and camermen would freakout and pan around the cameras real fast and miss most of the action? Don't you think the sound guy would just hti the 'mute' button as soon as kanye got the mic (which they are ready just in caes someone starts swearing).

And don't u think someone would've tackled him during his long ass walk to the front from the side?

I don't think everyone was in on it. Do you seriously? No doubt everyone that could have stopped it (security, the director) immediately recognized the potential juicy drama of what might be unfolding and didn't want to get in the way of it. I'm sure all those veterans of broadcasts like this one were saying "oooh that Kanya is about to do some exciting, stay on him", but I don't think it was a conspiracy. Country girl sure as hell wasn't in on it.

1 week before MTV execs go through "5" possible "stunts" (or as they call it "media acts"). Get approvals from all involved (talent, agency, etc.).

1 hour before, they decide which one goes through then notify parties to get into position. They do this in case someone posts on the net or blabs about it.

Then they alert engineering to get cameras "in position" for the "act" and master control is ready to switch cameras on a dime so nothing is missed. If anyone "blabs" about it - they don't get hired next year.

For those who think it's real - try moving a 200lb HD studio camera tripod rig with a long photo lens 45 degrees east within 2 seconds to capture a perfectly aligned "two shot" of someone who wasn't planned on being there. Try it!

(btw: kanye is a normal guy, who uses controversy as his calling card to get popular stay in the news. everyone knwos this).

Remember - there are two parties 1) MTV which loves these stunts cuz they get huge ratings which they can use to double commercial rates next year and TONS AND TONS of free press (look here). They don't give a shit if it's good or bad for Kanye. They just want their ratings.

2) Kanye, the artist. It was his gamble and hope it'll translate into more press and cd sales. And it does. However "boycot kanye" was probably not in his original plan. So not sure if in the end it was worth it for him signing off on this stunt (10x says he approached mtv with this idea).

As for Taylor, no idea. But i'm sure she was in on it, no way on hell would they take a chance her not giving him the microphone or fighting with him on live tv for it (or worse slapping him!). That would've been embarssing for mtv.

lol the one reason I don't believe this was done as a stunt is the fact that it involved taylor swift. She has to be the sweetest kid in the biz and the reaction is going to be purely negative. I have heard a couple of satelite stations swearing not to play kanye music.

I took PR classes, I know that bad press is still press. But there's bad press, and there's BAD press. This is the latter. If he did this as a stunt, he's a massive retard, and it is already backfiring.

Like I said - when you can move a 200lb studio HD camera 30 degrees to the left, zoom out and refocus all within 2 seconds to get a perfect 2-shot of kanye and taylor at that exact moment he grabs the microphone from her

As I said before...I'm sure they were ready for him to do something outlandish all show. It doesn't take a genius to predict that kanye is probably going to melt down at some point.
