So I thought it was about time to ask this question. What the heck is Karma? I get messages saying I got some Karma from somebody but I don't really know what that means? Do I have to thank this person? Do I like need to tip them or something... What's kosher on giving and receiving Karma?

Karma is a system on the board if some agree with your post they give you some. See the little ying yang icon on the left that is the button to give karma.

If you approve you give them green if you disapprove it is red. You can only give or take away as much as your karmic power IE mine is 70.
The smiles come when you go into advanced mod to post they are on the right click on more and a little box of smiles comes up.

Karmic power is in direct relation to how much you have and how long you have been here. So keep posting and stick around and your karma and karmic power will go up.

Your Karmic Power is based on 3 things:

You get one point of Karmic Power:
For every 2 months you have been on the site.
For every 1000 posts you make.
For every 2000 karma hits you have.

You get more karma when you hit up other members and by going Platinum.

In the future will be giving you free temporary Platinum upgrades for a few days based on your karma levels.

Here's the deal with out other trial Platinum Memberships.

You get to try a Platinum Membership for free of 10 full days when:

1. You're a new member who registered 90 days ago, visited the board in the last 30 days and have at least 1 post.

That changes as you increase your posts & time here.....

When/If you go Platinum you can select the description under your user name....

My stars are green & flash cuz I'm Plat.....not sure how they change for non-plats.....

Karma is basically a "fun" system where people can give/receive it.... Click on "Profile" at the top of the screen to see your personal karma & the last 8 people who gave it to you....

It's not required to give it back when given, but a lot of people do that....and you are NOT to solicit karma or start karma threads to solicit karma....

The title changes with the amount of post you have. Unless you go plat then you can make a custom title IE TOTAL BRAT.
The stars are also in relation to your post count unless you go plat then you get 4 sparkly blue ones.

At the top of the screeen/page there is a button/word called "Profile." Click on that & the page will display the threads you are subscribed to/posted on & below that, the karma from the last 8 people (I think) who gave you karma.
