Just saw part of this on 48 Hrs tonite - Mesotherapy?

Those crazy French are at it again. Lipo w/o the surgery? Just some well-placed shots in the love handles and the fat just melts away?

Just wondered --- I did a search on Google on this & came up w/ over 10 pages and about 2300 hits. I could NOT find reference to it on MedLinePlus.

Just wondered if anyone had heard about it or had any "real" info about it.

Talk amongst yourselves...

I read a blurb about this in one of those dumb women's magazines I keep buying (it replaces buying the impulse chocolate bar in the grocery line).

Apparently it's an injection that destroys the connective tissues or some such. I have been curious to find out more, but last I heard it was under development and would be another year before on the market.

Considering how miserable and dangerous standard lipo has been so far, maybe it's not such a bad thing.

Um... what I was reading about isn't the same thing as "mesotherapy". Mesotherapy apparently is injections of homeopathics and amino acids and such.

What I was reading about was injections of collgenase that is being tested by the FDA for cosmetic purposes in place of liposuction.

Could prove interesting...

lmao. Fat that melts away? Sounds like trick photography :)

Widely used in Brazil although not officialy approved by the medical organizations.

Lipostabil is injected on fat spots to fine tune.

that sounds like it -- the stuff is made up of "FDA approved" components including an asthma (?) medication, other natural vitamin stuff, etc. but the whole combination has not been reviewed by the FDA. I'm curious as to what the French do to "approve" these things. They always seem to be on the forefront of stuff -- but I'm never really sure if that's a solid reputation to go by.

On "48 Hours" they had this famous singer from the 70's (whose name I can't remember right now -- "Killing me softly ..." anyone remember???) who had been doing this for like 4 months and had lost somethign like 30 lbs. Except she had also gone on a new diet regimen & started training. My thinking is that 30 lbs didn't just magically drop off because of some secret mix of B-12 & asthma "inhaler juice" injections. If she had been sitting on her rear for 20 yrs enjoying the party life and all of a sudden changed her lifestyle, you bet she's gonna see some sort of change.

Actually if it really is just a "fine tuner", then are we talking basically about something like beefed up Kynoselen??
