Well I finally got around to getting my bars made and I must say they taste GREAT. I did the original recipe so that I would have something to judge different recipe's by. I'm trying to drop some fat, and using this as an alternative to arby's and wendy's on night shift. Making them wasn't too bad. The secret to getting them to mix well is using your HANDS so that the big massive ball of shit it turns into gets mixed up well. The other secret is not eating 11 bars worth of batter off of your fingers! The bars are small, but very dense and moist. Very filling. They sit light on your stomach, I wouldn't hesitate to eat one before a workout unless it was HIIT day or your a crossfitter/strongman.
Overall, the product was GREAT and the taste is fantastic. I could also tell the macros ramped up my metabolism. After 3 hrs of eating one bar, i was STARVING again and had to eat another.
When I made mine, I used a the bottom of a cup to press it into the pan better. I would reccomend this or doing as above and putting one pan on top of another and stepping on the top pan. I also am just leaving mine in the refrigerator. I kept one in my patrol car for about 4 hours to see how it would hold up at room temperature because at first my bars felt very soft, but it held up fine and tasted great.
Overall, I would reccomend these bars and I would buy in bulk(10 at a time). That way you save money. I am anxious for my wife to try one, she didn't like the batter so we will see if she likes the final bar.
Needto, I would like a list of alternatives for sweeteners and what else one could add to up the grams of protein.
Lastly, if any of you guys have any questions feel free to ask. Overall, I LOVE these bars and am anxious to see how/if they affect my diet.
