they've got a chance to get adopted before they get put to sleep. 14 days is all they give them. both dogs are good with other dogs, strangers, cats, and excellent with kids. they're also both house broken (cept for my female fucking up to piss me off) and both crate trained.
they jacked the price up to $100 to adopt a dog! that's fucking nuts. when we got them, they were $40 and that included the free nut removal/spaying.
shit makes me not want to get a dog ever again. female we've had for 3 years, she was 9 weeks old when we got her, the last one left in the litter. the whole litter had been brought in only a few hours earlier. she was a shepard/husky/lab mix.
male was an aussie mix, mostly blue heeler. he was 6-7 mos old when we got him and we've had him just over a year. totally neurotic dog. when we brought him home, his eyes were bloodshot and weary. guess he didn't sleep much when he was there. he adapted to us real quick. those 2 dogs were like brother and sister to each other the way they acted. crazy.
well, still got the cats. guess they're supposed to fill the void of no dogs.
i'd lock this thread myself cause i don't wanna talk about it too much more, but not many people post on my threads anyway, so it'll disappear by morning.

Why did you get them in the first place if you couldn't commit to the 9-12 years they were gonna live? A person responsible enough for dog ownership would either find another family to give the dogs to or looked for a place that allows dogs to move into. I feel really sorry for your dogs

i have a girl- friend that if i told her this story- she would be on a plane, go rescue the dogs without question, and stop by your place and level it and everyone in it all in about 5 seconds ( all the while crying her eyes out)....dont worry i wont tell her....feel bad for you Crak-i know that was hard...have a feeling you'll be at the pound very shortly to get those dogs, regardless of where they are gonna go....it will haunt you if you dont.

I don't know your story, but this is why animal shelters are constantly over-flowing with unwanted animals.
If you were "unable," or "unwilling," to take care of two dogs, then you had no busniness getting them in the first place.
I just can't image having to give up my two dogs. If I had to move, I would find a place that alows dogs...bottom line.

Well, to my mind, owning livestock is a choice, and I have the responsibility for treating them well also. Keeping them in the inhumane conditions your describe earlier seems irresponsible to me. Hey I understand our need to eat meat. I'm not a vegetarian. I eat cow like everybody.
But I'm not giving him grief about dropping off his dog at the pound.

I know it's tough to find an apartment that will allow dogs over 10-15 pounds.
That sucks man, but humans do come first. I read some of your G'ma threads but not all of 'em. Gotta get your life and your family's in order. I'm sure you called everyone you could think of to take care of them.
That being said, I do hope somebody comes to rescue them!

i do remember you threads about being in a rock and a hard place about financing and caring for your grandmother.
It can;t of been an easy choice but i'm sure its one you would have had to make. If ou can, it may ease the pain by trying to let people know through word of mouth, ebay or otherwise that you hav two amazing dogs availible for picking up. I just hope they beat the 14day barrier...I would leave them stray rather than kill them, lots of peole have taken in a dog before that comes to it.
my mutts not in thebest of health now, coupled with a vet who is trying to rake my parents over the coals financially (parents too roud to ask me for advice over one of the few things i might know about)....just focus the energy onto other things
