Watching PTI on ESPN today and they had a story about Canseco's new book coming out, which he claims he introduced and actually injected Mark McGwire with steroids. He also claims he got most of the Texas Rangers on steroids when Pres. Bush owned them. Not groundbreaking news to most, but interesting nonetheless:

Personally, I believe him - but not because he was my favorite ball player growing up. Of course he's trying to sell books, what better way than rat out some top professional players, but just like Bonds, McGwire blew up in size over the course of a couple years.

Everyone needs to just come clean. Admit they used, know they can't anymore and go on with life in the MLB. Home run record will never be beaten if they can totally crack down on perf. enh. drugs

It's fine that he admits that he has taken roids, but why does he have to include others. Why can't he just talk about himself and keep his mouth shut about everyone else. He's a fucking disgrace. Hey, it's his book... he can talk about whoever he wants in it. Besides it's not like people didnt know these guys used steroids. Its just that the american public is in denile about steroid use. Every time one of these baseball guys comes out about thier use everybody is shocked. A lot of people still believe it when guys like Ronnie Coleman claim they're all natural.

Canseco is an interesting mofo: Him and his brother beat the shit out of some dude at a club, almost killed him - he charged $1000/day or something like that for fans to hang out with him at his house when he was under house arrest - he's supposedly the biggest manwhore in hollywood - and best of all, a ball bounced off his head in the outfield and went over the wall!

But I agree, shouldn't rat people out. Better to come out and say, "look, I know for a fact people in MLB took steroids, because I used to inject them."

Jose Canseco is just a poor man who just wants to make a quick buck and he craves the limelight. He has nothing going for him right now so he tries to bring other people down on his level.

Gotta remeber a few years back it was Canseco that really started bringing the whole steroid issue out to the media and public. It was when they first started to write this book that he made the claim that 75%(or something close to that) of MLB players are on the sauce. This was all before BALCO and Victor Conte. At first nobody really bought it, but then Caminitti backed him up in his story with Sports Illustrated. After those two spoke out, the whole thing snowballed to where it is today. Personally I think MLB are the biggest hypocrits going, but if you really think about it, Canseco is the one who really put ALL of the players in the position their in today.
